Hi there im new to this site, going to pp in 4 weeks (kids counting the days on the calender, oh who am i kidding i am!!!!) anyway, this will be our 2nd visit, we visited in 2006 and loved it, were now returning for 2 weeks this time woohooo!! My question is we are on a really tight budget, 2 adults 2 kids aged 12 and 10, hubby and kids are dead fussy, last time we visited my youngest lived on either chicken and chips or chicken nuggets and chips, hubby pretty much the same, either chicken or steak with chips, i imagine thats the sort of thing we'll be having again this time, have the prices gone up alot lately? How much would you say i can expect to pay for meals out like that for us all every night? I just saw a thread that said it would be about 150 euros a night! I totally freaked out! Is it going to cost us that much? I hope not otherwise we wont be going out at all! Please help!!!

There are plenty of places that cater for your tastes and budget. Our average spend for 2 people was 60 euros, that included a bottle of wine and and coffees and brandy. This was early May so i don't know if prices have gone up since.

Hey Nikki,

Naciente, let me give you a example.

Went there with my wife few days back, I had chicken breast in pepper sauce, chips, veg, she had a a pizza, we ahd chicken croquets to start with (shared) 1/2L sparkling water, 1/2 still water, and a beer. It came to 25€!

Chicken in pepper sauce is great there and is under 10€.

hope this helped

there are plenty of places you can dine at for under 30 € per couple and loads where you can have lunch for under 20€ couple. you will have no problem.

Hi Nikki & welcome to the forum.

Do look at the thread on Evening Set Meals http://http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/showthread.php?t=3009 as I do think these are the most economical way to eat out as you know up front how much you will spend & there are unlikely to be more than 15-20 euros a head & normally include a drink etc. Also they often do include what some people may term the plainer food and more 'international' e.g. roast chicken, spaghetti bolognese etc. so I am sure you will do fine.

Some people do view their holiday as a means of trying a different gourmet meal every night but I don't think that the majority of families do & especially not this year.

I hope that puts your mind at rest.

Thank you so much everyone, that really has set my mind at rest, i was having kittens last night thinking i didnt have enough spending money and no hope of getting any more now with 4 weeks to go, the kids are driving me potty now, another day marked off on the calender! Hehe

eating out in pp on a budget

Hi Nikki

I've just come back from PP and although we had no kids with us my husband and I did have to keep an eye on the pennies. We had no problem eating out within our budget of 55 euros max. and we managed a drink or two with that. I did notice that the restaurants in general were not as busy as usual for high seasonwith the exception of Pascalinos, the Tex Mex's (boo, hiss) and Little Italy (see comments on another thread). Pascalinos does a set menu of Chinese or Spanglish food for 8.50 Euros and a childrens menu for 5.50 Euros so maybe you could check it out
