I was last in Mallorca +10 years ago, and had one of these delicious cakes for breakfast, after finding it in a local bakery.
Can anyone recomend an particular bakery for purchasing this local dish, or are they plentiful all around PP, where I haven't been before ?

Someone mentioned the Voramar supermarket just off the Pine Walk for good pastries and bread.

I'm not very good with directions, but I think it's near the new Tex Mex on the Pine Walk, tucked away a street behind the promenade.

We've always used SYP (Eroski Center) for bread and cakes. There's always been a great choice and nothing beats a fresh crusty baguette at lunchtime with salad and cold meats washed down with a bottle of chilled Cava!

You can't beat Las Delicias on Roger de Flor, number 55, but get there early...........(9.05 this morning and I got the last two!!!!)

Cheers!

The good news is that all the bakers sell ensaimadas all over the Island and of course in PP. You can even purchase the large ones in the airport but not sure of the quality. Bisanyes has some of the best ones I think but they are all good . . . . especially the large filled ones that you can get - crema - which is like cold custard - is heavan with a glass of cava . . . . .hmmmm. Shame, very light in weight but not in calories. . .:x

there is or was a nice bakers in pollensa town that sold them. Hope it's still open. I love them:D :D :D

Jane,

I think it was my recommendation you refer to.

The Voramar pastries are brilliant!! Take from an "expert".

voramar also does nice bocadillos and sliced pizza ooh and those glazed friut individual tart things - yum!

Try the baker just past the petrol statio on the main street called Bissanyes or the one near the roundabout next to the Mir supermarket also on the main street called Sucrart. Warm the ensaimada in the microwave for 1/2 seconds and you will see that they are even better!!!
