It’s years since we’d eaten at Eu Centro. One of those places you walk past thinking “Yeah, must go back soon” and then promptly forget about. Well, not this trip.

There’s a shortish menu packed full of Mallorcan classics, as well as a few more touristy dishes. The house salad was an enormous portion of mixed leaves, raisins, walnuts and pine nuts with a balsamic dressing. It went well with the bread and alioli. Across the table, tumbet was good, although lacking aubergine which, presumably is not in season.

Sole was simply grilled and came with a little dressed salad and chips. You won’t find goat on too many menus in the area and I suppose that, when you do, you’re looking at a restaurant that has some commitment to local produce and traditions. Here it comes on the bone, as a piece of leg, as well as a couple of chops. It’s really flavoursome and there’s a deeply savoury gravy to go with it. A few perfectly roasted potatoes and some mixed veg were a good accompaniment.
