Has anyone any suggestions on ferry crossings and costs between Menorca and Mallorca please?
My step grandson is coming out in a couple of weeks and can not live with the thought that his girlfriend is on the next island! Think he would swim across given the chance! :)
I think the cost will be far too much plus the timings probably won't work out but will that stand in the way of young love?

Have you looked at flights? My son flew from Menorca last year to join us in PP and we found that it was cheaper and more convenient to fly than take the ferry. He had been on holiday in Menorca with his girlfriend and her family and then continued his holiday with us, so young love was involved there too :)

Thanks Mike and Cat :)

Good idea regarding a flight so will look into that too.

So sweet isn't it! :)

Someone did say there was a 'workman' ferry from Alcudia full of lorries and trucks which take foot passengers if there was any room. Apparently it is a bit of an old wreck and quite smelly but young love should overcome that! Can't find details though!

I know of some people that took the ferry from Alcudia. Arrived Menorca about 1100 and left in the evening between 6 and 7 I think.

Thanks Lollipop. It seems it might be do able. I did check a few flights but they were coming through quite expensive. The time of the year I suppose!

Which ferry is it lollipop and do you have any idea how much it costs. I'd love to do that at some point as I love Menorca too, and Ciutadella is a lovely town to spend a few hours in:)

Take a look on the balearia website ragdollabbi. You can book on there too and they have special offers. :)

Tried the website for October Eleanor, but unfortunately the dates, at the moment anyway only go up to either 2nd or 3rd October. We don't arrive until the 10th. Might be too expensive for a day trip anyway;)

Brilliant Bella thank you. 40 euros is much more like it too although just heard guess who's doing the travelling?? Yep the girlfriend! Says it all really doesn't it! :)

No problem eleanor. Girl power for the girlfriend ~ and probably a telling off for the boyfriend when she gets there too!! ;)

I took a mountain bike over there last month on the ferry from Alcudia. It left at 8 in the morning and got into Ciutadella around 9.30. Then got the 11.00 am ferry back 2 days later. Nice easy journey, and make sure you have your beach gear as on the way back the ferry had an outdoor pool and sunloungers (oh, and a DJ!) I booked on line.

Thanks Wob sounds a good journey and good times of travel too. You say you booked online was that via Balearia?

Thanks for the tip.

Sound like a booze cruise! Were they lost and on the wrong island. You should have pointed and said Ibiza is thataway:-)

Just a quick bit of advise that we found useful when we did this last year -
Book on line and make sure you are booking direct with the Company website. Don´t use one of the booking agents including BALEARIA FERRY LINE - Balearia Ferry Line Passenger and Car Ferries which is also an agent not the Company. Iscomar are allot cheaper than Balearia but more basic. Having said that it is only a little over two hours so you can put up with it being unplush!
