charity fun run in aid of the "Spanish Association of Fight Against Cancer", here in the Balearics.

This is the first ever charity fun run organized in Puerto Pollensa and we would like to make it a yearly event we need as many people as possible to take part, ensuring that this worthy cause will really benefit and confirming that the residents of Puerto Pollensa are caring as well as fun loving. Of course, any holiday makers that are here on the island this Sunday are welcome to participate as well - the more the merrier!!! It is only 5 euros to enter and there are some great trophies to win!

The 6K race starts at 10:00am on Sunday morning 5th June but in order to include the children of Puerto Pollensa to have a part in this event, we have made a special arrangement with the three schools here in the Port so that all the children from 6 yrs old + will be able to run various short courses ranging from 200m to 900m according to their age category.

We have visited the schools and have inlisted the help of the sports teachers to inform the children of this event and encourage them to take part and "Have a go". There are trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each of the eight categories for them and medals for all those who complete the course. For the childrens races there will be no entry free and although they will not be able to use the spas on the race day, they will qualify to receive a free spa session accompanied by their parents at a later date of their choice.

one of our race sponsors "La Rosa Blanca restaurante", are going to prepare an enormous paella after the race, in the garden and pool area of their restaurante. The giant paella, which will be prepared in front of all those who wish to watch, is going to be a regular Sunday lunchtime event throughout this summer at "La Rosa Blanca".

From all snacks and refreshments on sale the proceeds will go to the Cancer Charity.

If you have any questions regarding anything to do with the race please do not hesitate to contact me on my mobile: 609 338 953 and I will do my very best to answer them.
