Pansy have you an email for Ibred I have sent emails to the contact link on their website but never received a response which is a bit off putting

No sorry I don't as we did everything through Confort who have been very helpful answering all queries. My husband even called them from UK as he had forgotten something and they were superb .

Community WiFi hotspot

Just out of interest, our community have recently installed a WiFi hotspot which picks up around our communal pool area and also in the reception hall. It does mean some inconvenience (if you can call sitting by the pool an inconvenience?) but it is operational from April to October and the cost is shared between our community apartments. It costs approx 15 euros per apartment per year. (450 per year for the whole community). I think is uses iBred systems.

Many thanks. We bought an orange MiFi device in January - ~19€/mth for 2gb (1 year contract) - and used this when we were out for 2 weeks for the Easter break. While it was good, with 4 iPhones and 4 iPads, we managed to get through that in 1 week!

19€/month (+VAT) and a year contract means 275,88€/year. It is worth it if you come more than 7 weeks per year. And you get 1/2 the data... ;-)

There is another option, IB red mentioned way back on the thread offer an option to buy the equipment, it's quite expensive, but then you can get them to turn the broadband on and off and only pay the times you are here, I had it fitted for a client, and within 2 years it had paid for itself, you can check their website for their prices. We have them at home but as we live here we rent from them, we are very happy with their service.

Hi do you know what speed you have ?

I am trying to understand what I need from them as they are offering 3mbps up to 7mbps

We will just want basic email opening Microsoft office type attachments,Facebook, twitter, opening of odd file from our home server based in UK , webbrowsing and of course pp forum

Not intending streaming tv and none of us are into Internet gaming etc

The 3mbps will be fine for that at a price of just less than 25 euros a month looking at the IB RED website prices.
It looks as though the amount of data is unlimited so not a bad price if you use it often.

The ib red website is strange as it has been set up to prevent google from translating the prices or indexing the prices in google search results

Had the 3mbps package installed last week

Great Service from Pedro at Confort

Speed is excellent - 3 IPADs downloading mail; newspapers, bit of youtube and just to see if I could I also used skype at the same time and whilst there was a bit of pixelation it was no worse than I have at home with my supposed Virgin media 100mb package.

All in all very pleased with it.

Oh and the beauty is that if in the future I want to up the speed , all I have to do is phone Pedro ( and pay more money of course )

So happy for you that you got it all sorted out! ;) Good old Pedro, hopefully it wont be raining when we next attempt to get it installed!!
