I take your point......the creation of a menu driven pricing structure (seat allocation, bags in hold, glass in windows!) is quite clearly to the operator's benefit - but I think it's good to have the choice. When I think what air fares cost 15 or 20 years ago, I suppose we don't have a great deal to complain about.

Debz' point about reclining seats is a good one. On a couple of occasions I've asked cabin crew to sort that one out, but they seem reluctant to ask the muppet in front until I suggest that "I'm happy to do it myself, but it might come better from you....." and they then seem more willing to help - perhaps to avoid "air rage"!!

I never pay the airlines for any of the "extras", as a previous poster mentioned it's only 2 and half hours, i'll sit anywhere, the idiots who think they're smart coming up with all the dodges like trying to get 3 seats for 2 people by leaving the middle seat empty are more to be pitied.

Anyway, shows how the airlines have got us were they want us when we're celebrating the fact we're not now having to pay a premium on a seat we've already paid for.

We book speedy boarding for a reason. my husband is 6'5" - as he has a bad knee then we pay this to try and get the extra legroom seats. This can be a bit hit and miss if they bus you to the plane. If I am paying the money anyway then I would prefer to do this for the seat I want and if they are not available then I will not have spent extra money for nothing

Just booked row 6 on my next three flights for £3 per person each way. Dont wait for an email, do it now, go to "my bookings" and select seat option!

but when do we get the 2013 flights?

quite a bit of flak on Facebook re delayed release....

Not until November I believe, if you book now , SB for next year, you must get first choice of booking seats later I presume!

I will never book Speedy or Priority boarding again, ever since the fiasco we had with Ryanair a couple of years ago. We paid Priority boarding, only to be boarded onto a bus first and then squashed to the back by the rest of the passengers, so we ended up last on the aircraft... a total joke! The obvious Magaluf possie were full of it for the flight home, as they boarded first! We complained to the airline, but they just dismissed it as if they didnt care!

What makes this even worse is that the ryanair email booking confrimation states...

"The Priority Boarding service allows passengers to be part of the first group to board the aircraft".

So when does a bus become classed as an aircraft!!!

NEVER FALL FOR THE SPEEDY/PRIORITY BOARDING TRAP. IF EVERYONE STOPS PAYING IT, THEY WILL HAVE TO SCRAP IT!

Roig Cat - thank you so much for that.Just booked the extra leg room seats for January :D

forgot to mention less than half the cost of speedy boarding too...

You can book seats ok now, just checked, wasn't working first thing yesterfday, looks very easy to do!

Hi Stevo6, row six was the first row at £3.00 each! Row 5 was £8 each. We will be off the plane only seconds behind row 5, hence reason for booking row 6.
