I went into Waitrose this afternoon to buy a bottle of the Spanish Rueda that Steve had recommended some time ago. However, I took it off the shelf, looked at it and thought, "Nah!" It was too cold today to drink a crisp white so I bought the Gran Feudo instead.
This wine is a Reserva and has had ageing in barrels of French and American oak. It's a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and was priced at £6.55.
I opened it 20 minutes before I had a sip and there was some oaky aromas when I had a good sniff. With a good mouthful I tasted cherries and the wine was smooth, rounded and delicious. There was just a bit of dryness, but nothing to make me screw up my face!:lol
I have a feeling it will open up as the evening wears on and should be great with the beefy dinner we have tonight.
Enjoy!!

Ooops!! Sorry I forgot to say this wine is a DO and is from the region of Navarra in northern Spain.
