We have found a good deal for car hire using Hertz. Does anybody know if they are on/off site pick up. It's our first time hiring a car to drive to Puerto pollensa and after hearing some of the off site pick up horror stories, i really want it to be on site and as straight forward as possible. All help appreciated.

They are in the airport - I would suggest you consider very carefully the offer of further insurance.

They wanted an additional 86 euros when we picked the car up, for additional cover - they said if we had an incident we would be responsible for the first 600euros in excess!

We chose not to take it - and on return of the car, I asked them to check it for damage, they said no worries, you are fully covered on your basic insurance for damage anyway - buyer beware!

For what it's worth, Hertz always seem to have the shortest queues at Palma Airport - I reckon that's worth a few Euros!

We just got back last week and used them. Our original car was not available when we landed so they upgraded us. Got a beautiful 4x4 with tinted windows the lot!
Beware though, another person in our party (who has to remain nameless!) booked through Hertz also online, but made a slight error when booking. When he went to Hertz desk at the airport, he found out that the car was waiting for him in ... Palma Gran Canaria!! Not what you want when you've got a tired 2 year old! Luckily they managed to find him a car after about an hour and were very good and didn't charge him twice....

Found a good deal through moneysupermarket.com. You can also find 10% discount vouchers on line (just put Hertz discount vouchers into google) if you prefer to book direct

We rented from Hertz in May and it's turning out to be a nightmare. Received our credit card statement last week and they've charged us 48 euros - we don't know what for.

The car was returned full of fuel (for which I still have the receipt, time and dated about 10 minutes before we returned the car), no damage and on time!

I have emailed them twice - with no response.

Until this is resolved to our satisfaction we won't use them again.
