As car hire seems to be thread(s) of the day today, thought I would share my current experience and give Hiper a little visibility.

We have travelled with Jet2 Holidays so hold luggage and transfers all included in the deal so don't need transport from Palma.

Checked Hiper here in the Port and found that for rentals of 6 days or less fuel is worked on the full/ full basis - i.e. you pay for what you use. With annual excess insurance from the excellent insurance4carhire, I paid the (internet) quoted 124euros for the 6 day hire with no deposit, pay on collection. Got a supermini class Fiat Punto with 2000 Kms on the clock.

I 'm a happy punter, mainly because I will only be paying for fuel I use!

Also, by shopping local, we are supporting local businesses in the Port. (I know - its a national company, but they will be employing a few locals here in the port won't they)

Glad they are still going strong, we used them for a few years for short hire periods when the kids were small, they were always very friendly and efficient and the cars were always excellent, as you say supporting the local economy as well!!

Hiper value

We use Hiper regularly now at the start of a holiday and at the end. Two good points with them. 1/ For hire of 4 days+ they do not charge for drop off at a different location. 2/ For hire of up to 6 days the deal is to return the car full of petrol.
So we get a car from their office next to the Airport (free transfer coach) and drop in the port after 4-6 days. We do the same towards the end of our holiday and this works great. Prices are very reasonable as long as you book online or phone them (they speak good English).

that's a great tip, thanks, wish I'd thought of it years ago ....all that unused fuel could have been tinto !

So we get a cat from their office next to the Airport ;)
They are very friendly and helpful at Hiper, we used them a lot for short periods of hire in the past, and so convenient with them in the port

We have used them for the past 5 wks with no problems but their policy for petrol was pay for a full tank 78 euros (excessive) return empty.:D

All bookings direct with Hiper on line are now full/full

My booking was through a broker which may explain the full empty?
