I have had no replies to emails and the phone is still disconnected, not a good way to get bookings if they are open :confused:.

They are offering rooms via lowcostholidays.com. Warned some friends who were thinking of booking about the uncertainty so they are holding off for now.

It would make commercial sense to place a large notice on one of many of the windows to say when it is going to open if indeed it is.

Hot off the press!!!

As of 6th May the hotel is under new management, i spoke to the lovely Susan this afternoon and am delighted that she and other former employees have got their jobs back :D.

Hotel Eolo

Good news!

What is the the new phone number - the old one is cut off? And the new e-mail - still not responding on the old address.

Brilliant news - thank you for letting us know Sparky. Delighted this lovely wee hotel is open again. :D

No Jan i don't know who the new owner is, i only spoke briefly to Susan as she was on her way to work ;).

I can report that the new owners have the Eolo up and running and doing what looks like a good job. How do I know........because we have grabbed a short break and are staying at the hotel as I write. The new owners Mateus and Lourdes are very nice and as we already know, have retained their staff who we remember from past visits.
The previous owners have let the place slip somewhat but it looks very much as though this will be corrected by a very ambitious plan which will see the Eolo open for the whole year, not just the season, as well much refurbishment. It will be interesting to see what happens but we have already seen the attention that is being shown to guests that are staying at present.
We wish the new team well and from what we have experienced I am sure they will succeed.

Thanks for the info Tonsyl it was lovely to see you on Thursday and i hope you both enjoy your much needed break in PP ;).

Got to be good news for the port and indeed the employees.

Also good to see that owners seem to be doing a lot of refurbishment of late which keeps things smart and up-to-date.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Sparky. I think we may have met the new owners whilst there last month, and its good to hear they have plans for the place, and look to be keeping the staff on. They were very pleasant and helpful, and look to be doing a good job. Wish them well for the future, after it seems the previous owners had let it go somewhat. It would be shame to let it go, what with such a prominent position and really great staff. Good luck to them
