Hello Sparky,

You are all welcome to visit us at The Mar Calma Hotel**** that will open on May 15th.

Regards,

Carlos Capllonch

Is it possible for your to send the telephone number of the mar calma to howard.page@tiscali.co.uk. Thank you. Carlos this is for Stella (Mrs Gordon).

Been Watching them work on this for the last few trips with interest, will be a good addition to the port, looks great what they have done to it, it will be great to see it all finished.

I saw it last week & it looked very smart but not open yet although it looks like you can book it with Late Rooms :)

Aah, cheers you two.

The one on the corner that has had the major facelift. It looks very smart and a big improvement.

Thank you so much for the information, have told my friend (who is 87 and has been visiting PP for over 50 years) and she is delighted. Once again, many thanks.

good luck Carlos

Hi Carlos, glad to hear you have a new job, you have been like a friend to us over the years, we will definitly be getting in touch with you at the new hotel later in the year. good luck from Anne and Stuart (Hibbert) (room 205) :)

Popped into the new bar/restaurant below the hotel a couple of Wednesdays ago and became the first customers (or so we were told!)

Very funky with modern white walls and furniture. Even though the staff were new, the service was very friendly and the food superb.

Had a look at the photos of the new rooms and they look very nice, and are well-priced. Open all year too.

Well worth a visit - Makes a very nice addition to the Port.

I had a guided tour of this Hotel yesterday so I can write up an accurate description and all I can say is WOW, this has to be a real success. Located just off the Church square with just 20 beautiful modern rooms decorated in tones of grey and white, offering hot/cold air con, free safe, minibar, wall mounted large flat screen SAT TV and i pod docking unit complete with alarm. The bathrooms offer large walk in showers. Lift to all floors. 2 Rooms suitable for disabled guests. Wonderful first floor lounge area ideal for relaxing with the paper, catch up on your emails or enjoying a drink and an inviting modern ground floor bar/bistro with pavement terrace to enjoy hot/cold breakfast, drinks or superb meals prepared by the talented chef. The staff are professional and enthusiastic making this a perfect place to enjoy a summer holiday or short break in Puerto Pollensa any time of the year. Puerto Pollensa deserved a Hotel of this nature and I hope I can send plenty of people there as I am sure they will be delighted. Hope to try the Bistro tomorrow night with Juan so shall report back.

Sounds great. Can't wait to try out the trendy bistro ASAP.
Just shows how you can tranform such a basic, scruffy building.
Wish them well.

Any new hotel is to be welcomed in PP and I hope the Mar Calma is a success.
However, I do have doubts about the location and size, not the least of which is its' neighbour, O Haras, the area around which can get very noisy and the noise from cars, lorries and coaches on the road junction. The rooms are very well appointed and sound proofed but the balconies have no view to speak of and are noisy. Added to this, I did not see any restaurant as such and would prefer a 4* hotel to have this facility. No doubt others will have other views and only time will tell but my impression is one of a business hotel, spotlessly clean but with no atmosphere and in the wrong place.

Tonsyl it does have a bar/bistro which is also open to the general public. Or do you mean a dining room/ restaurant solely for the use of hotel guests?.

I would like to have seen a specific dining room for hotel guests, fully inside the building. The area alongside O'Haras is too open and far too noisy for me but, others will have their own views.

Good luck in your new job Carlos! My mum and dad (margaret and frank Dawson) are coming out to stay in the new hotel in a couple of weeks time and are looking forward to it. We all loved the Eolo and had many happy holidays spent there! Best wishes Janice
