Hi Deanscroft according to the current TOTN, John is playing Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at the Hideaway. Sorry i don't have any more info than that but will try to find out :).

Thanks Sparky
I was hoping to find an alternative venue. My wife is one of those strange people who dont drink alcohol. Her idea of a good night out is a couple of cups of cafe con leche. Regretably The Hideaway appears to be probably the only bar restaurant in the whole of Spain that doesn´t serve coffee !!

Deanscroft, i had a message from John this morning and i am afraid that in the port he is only playing at The Hideaway.

John plays with the full band on thursdays, and usually a full house. He has his masterclass on sundays ie by himself ,so you can take along your own guitar and join him,and on tuesdays himself and a fellow guitarist.Always nice and easy listening and for Donna and me he has always been great entertainment.

We visited The Hideaway for the first time two weeks ago and received a very friendly welcome . The music was terrific and John is certainly very talented , not least as a raconteur !

If you like great live rock music and in particular the blues , then do yourself and The Hideaway a favour and get down there to support them .

I think John's gigs at the Hideaway will definately be running until the end of October at least. His usual nights are Tues, Thurs & Sunday from 9.

I know I've said it before but brilliant entertainment.:)

Guitar workshop

Passed the other day and apparently John is running workshops on Sundays now. Will take a proper look tomorrow and give an update.

John Lynam:Amazing guitarist!

We read in the MDB about John's gigs at the Hideaway. Even though it's only a few hundred yards away from our apartment we hadn't heard of the place but went to see him play and were absolutely blown away by his music. I find it hard to believe that you can listen to such good entertainment without paying a for ticket! We've certainly paid many pounds for gigs at the Newcastle Arena and the Sage and not enjoyed ourselves as much. We ended up going back 3 times over a period of 2 weeks including my birthday celebrations (thanks to Mel, but apologies to those behind us) If you haven't been to the Hideaway on a music night and appreciate first class vocal and guitar, we'd surely recommend.

Our villa is just a couple of minutes from the Hideaway and although we have been many times over the years have never seen John. I think perhaps it is a recent venue for him but I could be wrong. The Hideaway is a lovely place and is just that - hidden away - well worth finding though!

Definitely not a new venue for John, he was playing there at least three years ago, probably longer. :D

Does anyone know if John is playing in the port this year ? We are popping over for a few days later this month and can think of no finer way of spending an evening .

As far as i know he is still playing at the Hideaway, he played Max's Cafe last night but i don't know if that was just a one off for Easter.:D

Thanks Sparky , that's great news . Very much looking forward to hearing and seeing him play again .

I have just heard from John and he said at the moment it's Thursdays and soon Tuesdays at the Hideaway plus Saturdays at Max's.:)
