We have been visiting PP every summer for the past 5 years and have just returned last weekend. I was saddened to read the criticisms of the customer treatment. We had polite and good attention in every restaurant and bar we visited throughout our two weeks, even in the old towns of Alcudia and Pollensa. There were two minor menu incidents one of which resulted in an item not being required to be paid and the other where free drinks were provided. Apologies were also given in both cases. The friendly receptionists in our regular aparthotel are looking forward to our return.

In a Spanish/Mallorcan restaurant???.

Hey Sparky, a laugh helps us get through this heat.

As Bircho will probably confirm, it´s easier to get a Chicken Tika Masala than Yorkshire pud up there now.

I think he was only joking Sparky....
On the wider issue - I agree with you that in most cases it is the customers who have the "attitude" problem....last year i was having a meal in Alcudia old town and a large family group sat next to us. Two of the group virtually demanded (and got) individual paellas, which they then complained about (I love paella - and they looked lovely) and complained about a number of other things. You've guessed it - they started wanting things they'd EATEN taken off the bill - and loudly stated how they wouldn't be leaving a tip! (as if the minge-bags were going to leave anything anyway)
It was clear their objective was paying as little as possible for their food.
if I'd been the manager (who'd literally been back and forth to the table about ten times) they would have got a slap!

We came home on Sunday after another fabulous two weeks. We ate out every night (and some lunches too ;) and always had great service. I'd particularly mention Nico's, who forgot to charge us for a bottle of wine we'd had. We felt bad so we confessed, and the manager came over and said it was their mistake and he was happy leave the bill as it was. How good was that?? Needless to say,we left a decent tip :) I guess some people would have just kept quiet...
