interesting thread
we flew to Italy with Meridiana last year, & the differences compared to UK airlines were marked -
no obsession with hand baggage sizes
fewer cabin crew
minimal choice of drinks - tea, coffee, oj, water, virtually no food - what do you need for 2 hour flight?
no intrusive announcements selling lottery tickets every 5 minutes - in fact no announcements at all, safety message on screens
no crew bothered about people going to the loo when seat belt sign on, or when using games / mp3s during take off/landing, or having bags on empty seats during take off, etc
didn't feel unsafe at all, just a refreshing change
Presumably all EC airlines are subject to the same safety considerations - do UK carriers go a bit over the top ( the EJ stewards do seem to like their 'flirty' banter over the tannoy) with H&S, or does CAA have higher requirements?
oops, prob wrong thread, but read it with interest following EJ's tightening of 'free' hold baggage allowance this year - £84 in advance for an extra 6 kilos between 4, I'm scared to look at the excess rates, glad we bought the scales, but , surprise surprise, they didn't match Easyjets last year, & you don't need me to tell you which weighed heavier...
