Linea Verde

You may have seen the Linea Verde posters
around town but did you know that this
service is a way of communicating directly
with the council? Residents can report any
incident or damage in their neighbourhood
through the web and mobile app. Within the
council, the Linea Verde system provides a
powerful intranet through which officers can
track the status and resolution of reports.
First download the Linea Verde app on your
mobile. When you come across something
you would like to report open the app
and select the type of incident (the system
automatically detects the location), then take
a picture, include an optional comment and
the council is notified. The most common
categories of incidents are litter, street
cleaning, problems with benches, signage,
rodents and pigeons. You no longer have to
walk past overflowing bins, or graffiti feeling
powerless, instead you can report it to the
council and keep an eye on its progress as the
council deal with the problem.

This is a fantastic thing and many Towns in many countries could learn from this. So all you people moaning about Graffiti etc etc tap the app and it will be sorted amazing never seen such a proactive move from any Council in my life I take my hat of to them as should you :)

I can't find the app when searching google play store - does it go under another name?

Have you tried the Play store link above?

You should also be able to scan it from the Linea Verde website (see also above).

Edit: Just tried it myself and get an error-message in the Play store "This item is not available in your country"
Not sure what the way around is. Sorry.

Thanks Mike - looks like I will have to wait until I am there and then try to get the app but I am wondering if it will not be possible as it is a UK registered phone - we will see.

Don't know if anybody else has looked for the app in the App store but a search for 'Linea Verde' produced no results, I am in Mallorca so that should not be the problem and using a Spanish phone.

Works for me on my iPhone here, well I can find it, cant download it, have you tried clicking on the link from your phone, not your PC, should find it then!

Thanks SWS, just tried doing a search in the App store for 'Linea Verde' on my IPhone and got the same 'No results could be found'. Oh well I didn't want to complain about anything, thankfully. ;)

Had a look in regards to the Google Play Store for Android and apparently you have to have a card with a billing address located inside your desired country set up on your Google Wallet account.
