Long Term Rentals in Puerto Pollensa or surrounding areas

We are interested in an intitial 6 months rental prior to moving out full time but I can't seem to find any details online about long term rentals in this area ?
Are they available and if so, what sort of monthly rent should we expect to pay for a small 2 bedroom apartment or similar 2 bedroom property for 6 months approx.
We are hoping that by renting for 6 months, we can find a suitbale property to buy, maybe find some work, and sort out everything else including schools etc before buying into the property market.
Is this a good idea ?

your best bet for long term rentals is to approach the local estate agents - see rentals.puertopollensa.com/localagents/localagents.php Some of the private rental owners advertising on our site, especially the Spanish owners, may be interested in long term rentals but the majority are looking for holiday lets. Therefore you would do better contacting the agents & there are plenty of them.
