Outdoor Municipal Swimming Pool

Hi

Someone mentioned to me that there was an outdoor municipal swimming pool in the Port but I have absolutely no idea where!!!

Does anyone know if there is one and if yes - where?

Thanks

There used to be a municipal outdoor pool on Calle Cadernera in Gommar.

Going to say the same thing, I assume it still there under all the undergrowth, nothing was done to the site was it, used to walk along the road past it and here the screams of delight coming from the kids there!

The municipal pool that is now an indoor pool, started out life as outdoor pool.

And it was wonderful. Swimming against the backdrop of the mountains.

It looks as though they have been filled in with builders rubble as a safety measure?

It also seems overrun with cats and the Gentleman who rides a bike, scavenging, and sucking on a large cigar uses the area. Seen him disappearing into the bushes near the roundabout where Cadernera meets the ring road.

He is living in there I believe. There were others at one time but not sure if still there.

So... as a property owner but a non-resident, I just turn up at the pool (with a hat), pay the fee and take a swim? Do I need any documents or is there a need to enrol in any way?

As I didn´t know there was a pool until it was mentioned here, I popped round ( on my recently purchased bike ) to check out the "conditions".

Anyone can use it, including foreigners, both residents and non-residents.

People who are enpadronado in Pollensa pay slightly less ( € 3 ) than people who aren´t ( € 4 ).

Over 65´s pay € 2,50 and € 3,00.

There are special offers for longer periods of time, which can work out at less than € 1 per day.

Open every day from 7,30 to 22,00 except Saturdays 9,00 - 14,00 and 16,00 - 21,00

It was suggested to me that it´s best to avoid Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12,00 and 14,00 due to schools playing water games.

Sundays and public holidays closed.

The website isn´t much use. The phone number is 971 865 212

Hope this helps,

Molt
