Re: Music

No problem I'll let you know when I burn it.
But I still want even more tracks and even better more stories that go with them.
cheers.
Rob

Re: Music

I'll take careful notes of everything this holiday! Including music and any associated tales...

Re: Music

Listening to Brian Wilson from Glastonbury: the Beach Boys have to the epitome of summer music. Remember listening to Good Vibrations in Malta staying with a school pal whose dad was Commander of REME out there: lying on cold marble after a hot day out listening to those cool sounds.
And Crosby Stills Nash (saw them last night): Love the one you're with - probably from beach parties in the Channel Islands early 70s...
Playing Otis Redding Sitting on the Dock on the Bay on a campsite in south of France on the kids Fisher Price tape player, only music machine we had...
there, you have a few more!

Re: Music

What a fantastic picture you paint and yes they are truley summer hits.
thank you for sharing them.

Re: Music

Hi Rob

Check out the temperature today..97* at 12.30 pm 8) Made me think of another track for your cd...OH IT'S HOT HOT HOT!! Can't think who its by or any other line but I'm sure you'll know the one. Or would you like me to sing it for you???!! ;)

Re: Music

For starters this compilation is missing two sublime tracks both from the same album:- 'Here Comes the Sun', and 'Sun King' from the Beatles Abbey Road disc. Then there's the fun hit from Supergrass that allways makes me smile - 'Feel Allright'. Jamiroquai have included on their new album 'Dynamite' the beautiful 'Seven Days in Sunny June' (shame there's only two days left to go!) Turn up the heat with Funkstar Deluxe and Bob Marley's 'Sun is Shining' and finally chill out with the Happy Mondays' Holiday / Harmony...bring it on!!!

Re: Music

Wow what amixture of musical taste. Your as bad as me lol.
I know a few of the and need to listen to the others.
take care.

Re: Music

It's early evening and the heat is leaving the day. The pinkish velvet is enfolding the mountains across the bay; G&T in hand, ice quietly clinking;

It has to be Albatross by Fleetwood Mac

Re: Music

A Classic Jim a clasic. Think we should start a chilled out in Puerto pollensa thread. That will be the first track!.
What do you think folks can we have a Chilled out CD listing?.
Rob

Re: Music

Hi Rob!

Hot on the heels of my "Chilled Out" recommendations come two more for the happy, sunny music CD.

They are:

Louis Armstrong - We Have All The Time In The World

Roy Ayers - Everybody Loves The Sunshine

(Both from my album - The Very Best of Smooth Jazz)

Mmmmmm! Listening to them now!!

Wish the sun was shining though!

Regards

Re: Music

Thanks for the tracks Jane, They are great!.
Dean martin had a few happy tunes that I love to listen to on a sunny day. That's Amore & Hey brother pour the wine.
The Mavericks: Dance the night away & Here Comes My Baby (sad words but both songs get my feet tapping).
Keep them comming folks :lol .

Re: Music

crowded House: Weather With You. Has this been Suggested already?. This track reminds me of driving to my favorite beach (Bamburgh, Northumberland) for the first of many sunny visits after a cold bleak winter.
I'm still looking for more before we choose the favorite tracks. So come on let us know your favorite and why.

Rob

Re: Music

Rob anything by Crowded House and I'm a happy bunny! :D Also Best of Cafe del Maor especially Entre dos Aguas and Tatouage Bleu - this reminds me of last Summer when we were staying in a villa in the Pollensa countryside. This cd was playing when we had friends round for a BBQ and the sun was setting over the mountains...Mmmmm bliss! Oh and the Lighthouse Family that's good chilling music.

How are you going to decide which to choose?..p'raps you could make a series like the NOW cd's! :)

Re: Music

Glad you like Crowded House Debz, I have most of their tracks. But Best of Cafe del Maor especially Entre dos Aguas and Tatouage Bleu well where can I source that?.
The Chill out tracks are on another thread, so you can add them to that one.
As for picking the tracks to go on to the CD. I'm working on that. if each track last 3 minutes then i can put 23- 24 tracks on the normal CD. but with ATRAC3 I can put the lot on my CD and play it on my ATRAC3 Walkman.
Maybe we need to have a poll for which tracks go on. Some tracks I wont be able to source.
Mean while keep the suggestions comming in and maybe it will have to be a 2CD set!.
Take care.

Rob

Re: Music

At the moment, I would add anything by Doves or Coldplay. Went to see them last night and they were stunning!
My family will now be groaning as they now know a few of the cd's I will be taking on holiday - sorry!

Re: Music

I've only really heard the singles from the Doves. but love Coldplay's music.
How about the great James Brown and Get it Up (I feel like being a sex machine)?.
I'm so enjoying all these tracks now!. Keep sending them in.
Rob

Re: Music

Just put on Katrina and The Waves "Walking On Sunshine". I'm:D and bopping around the livingroom (no wet floors or loose towels) :rollin and the sun is out . Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :rollin :rollin :rollin ., Summers here!!!!8)

Rob

Re: Music

Hi Rob!

I heard "Walking on Sunshine" yesterday on the way to work and was going to suggest it for you. You beat me to it!!!

Sadly yesterday it was grey and drizzly here but the song cheered me up!
