Can anybody tell me what the Spanish Tax is and what you pay for national insurance in Majorca, also, what kind of childbenefits are there.
Thankyou

You will have to register with the social services at an accountant. I used one in Alcudia who was great. If you are under pensionable age, you will have to pay €240 a month for social security cover. This gives you entitlement to National Health treatment and qualification for a pension when you retire. This will cover your whole family. You will also have to register for IVA if you are a self employed trader. Can't remember how much tax was, but it's a bit higher than the UK and all these are paid monthly too. Your accountant will do a quarterly IVA and tax return. This will also cost you.
Sorry can't tell you about child benefit, after paying all the above, I couldn't afford children !!:lol

We've just added a new section to our books page on 'Living & Working' - see puertopollensa.com/Books3.html#misc so you should find the information in one of those. I've chosen the most recent publications but if anyone can recommend any others, do let me know. Thanks.
