Yes sws they are, the obvious patatas bravas plus at varying times garlic mushrooms,tortilla,potatoes in alioli,peppers padron,mushrooms in sherry. the selection changes

I'm beginning to wonder if there will be anything left open by the time we come back in July! Neptuno was the best, one of the few places I could still get snails! I'm so depressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you Jonesy - we didn't manage a visit last year so I think we will see a lot of changes when we come in July!

Neptuno closing is a really sad day for me - it is one of the very few places that has remained throughout my life of visiting PP and was the only place that we had found with authentic tapas and authentic atmosphere - what are the locals going to do?

I am sure it has been there for more than 33 years!

Presumably they own the freehold - another block of flats?

I may be wrong but i thought any bar/restaurants closing had be kept as such and could no longer be converted to flats.

GG a lot of the locals have started going to Bar Rumbo who do very good tapas at a reasonable price. You are probably right that Neptuno has been there longer but Martin has run it for 33 years, according to his son.

Sparky, One door closes, another one opens, the Rumbo always seemed to struggle over the years, this is a marvelous opportunity for the new owners, the very best of luck to them.

We were chatting about Neptuno closing at weekend and we wondered if Juan who owns Tiberi, will look at expanding into the property. You always have to wait for tables there and even if he didn't seat people inside, he would have lots more room outside.

PS - we can vouch for Tony's Tapas at C'an Balache - they are excellent!

Hi, I have just found out why neptuno closed. Martin never owned it he rented it from day 1. Because the rent contract was drawn up over 30 years ago it had very tight constraints on how much it could be increased per annum. For the last few years martin had tried in vain to get the owner to renew the toilets, even offering to pay the cost but he refused point blank with the knowledge that in time the health authority would prevent martin from trading and that was what happened. Martin in fact never wanted to go. He is now living in a very old apartment on his own near to the bar rombo. He left with nothing and it was only through one of his family members that he was allowed to live there as he had had to sell the large villa he owned some tme ago to cover the debts run up by the failed Neptuno 2. A Very sad day indeed.

(Neptuno 2) was called Tramontana, this then becam Halifax bank and is now sitting empty like loads of other properties in the Port. It´s a shame to see business´ close but unfortunately the people who own the properties just want to keep increasing the rent. When times are hard they won´t even negotiate a better rate. Which means that the decision has to be made to close the business.

Just read the news and am gutted. Visiting neptuno was the highlight of our holiday. What has happened to Miguel has he found work for the coming season. We have been to pp every yearsince 1985 and really don't know if we will return. First \tango and then last year we were very surprised at the closure of TOTS.

Hi, Miguel has not found any work and at his age he realises it won't be easy. When i spoke to him recently he was really quite down.
