Yes, I've been missing my PP fix too, Pollpott. The Ruisech view is lovely, but not the same as seeing people sitting out on the Pine Walk.

Same here - I've just about given up trying now! Would it be possible for someone to ask what the problem is - is it to do with 'nvading people's privacy' or some new law?!

It's a hard life but someone has to do it. ..........

Took a walk along the Pine Walk this morning. The sun was shining and I guess it was about 25 deg C with a light breeze coming in from the clear blue water over the bay. Here is what I saw in the BH window.

The webcam is still there and the power light is on. The 'link' led is flashing (which I think is a good sign). I am not sure what shows on the TV screen normally, however while it was on there was just the screensaver you get when your DVD player has no disk in or has gone to sleep.

Adios

Dave

The problem seems to be at the Barnard Hamilton end as nobody can get a picture from either camera. This is a shame as so many people depended on it to keep them going through the gloomy days here in the UK (weather & economy:()

Did we take it for granted? - Are we now paying the price?

I was there last week and noted that the webcams were in place at both offices - and both with flashing LED's.
I think it's likely that either the person responsible for them is not in the office or that they are simply unaware that they are not operating.
I don't think they would have been taken down intentionally. It's not really in their interest to have a section of the company website not functioning. If they were causing a problem it would be better to remove the relevant pages.

Good News is that there is another webcam operating on the seafront at Sail & Surf:

Sail and Surf Pollensa | Home

There is a small download in order for it to work.

Happy viewing :D

That one refuses to download on my computor too! Getting closer and closer to when we go and will be getting pretty desperate to view the weather changes:o

Sail & Surf webcam

Hi Bella, I just tried to load the S&S webcam and got a 'can't load on your computer' message but if you try again there is a little message at the top of your screen that invites you to 'allow active X to trusted sites'. I clicked on this and it now works fine. You may have to set your computer security to medium first. Good view but not as good as people watching on the Pinewalk.

Thanks for that link RingSpin - it downloaded OK but the 'motion' something keeps cutting out and it freezes! Never mind - a 5 second fix is better than none!

Looks a bit choppy today

GG

Thanks for Sail & surf webcam link

Hi RingSpin
& thanks for the webcam link. Have to 'refresh' screen occasionally but that seems more down to my connection.

Hope the BHI webcam will be back soon as it's always great to look at.

mike

Thanks Ringspin,
I can see the PP at last. It keeps freezing but after doing a Refresh it's ok again.

Only 45 days to go and we'll be there.

Hot off the press, just emailed BHI, Jamie replied with the following

"The web cams are down as the IT man has to come and reconfigure the new routers’ we had installed by the telephone company."

So it looks like they should be back on soon, but we will have to be patient for a while.
:)

Oh God!!, i hope they haven't been hijacked by another company like others have been. If so it could be a very long wait.

Sparky - you could always set up a webcam from your place for us!!!! :)

BHI port web cam now back up and running.

Not for me. It says they will be turned off for a while due to technical reasons.
