Just booked a week in PP for new year. Has anyone spent time in the port then and what restaurants would you recommend to bring in the New Year and New Years Day ?. Sorry if some of you have still to have your summer hols !!

We stayed in Pollensa Town for New Year last year and had a fantastic time, so much so we booked straight away for this year. We went to the Clivia followed by dancing in the square where they had a live band, there was a fantastic atmosphere. Not sure if it is the same in the port but can definately recommend the Old Town.

New Years Eve

Last year's New Years Eve at O'Lume was magic. Great atmosphere, and everything provided at a very reasonable price (compared with some other establishments which were massively over-priced and did not provide food of the standard of O'Lume)

I hope this is useful.

Frito.:)

Sounds great . did you book in advance for the restaurants ?. What was the weather like ? I had thought about going to the Stay has anyone been at New year time ?

Cat,

Yeah a few years back , good night but predominantly germans there which was a bit unusual as the clientel in Summer is predominantly British.

However last year it was 145 Euros per head.

Know you Scots love Hogmanay but do you love it that much ????

BonysLad :D:D

Trios is usually a good craic as well but this is about 90 euros per head.
Not so bad at 1.40 odd euros to the £1.

Weather can be perfect New Years Day but have only managed to observe the afternoons for obvious reasons !!!!

We did not book until we arrived but apparantly took the last available table ( the restaurant was full) so rather than take any chances would book in advance, We had e-mailed Stay but decided against going there mainly because of driving, plus the price especially as we only managed 98 euros to the pound at New Year.

We had a lovely lunch at Stay outside on the terrace in the sunshine and mainly the weather was around 18 degrees. New Years day we spent on sun loungers around the pool not in swim wear but shirt sleeves so very pleasant. On our first day though it was really cold and windy and you needed a coat

Thank all. You have given me plenty to think about. It would be lovely to see some sunshine as i'm sure you can imagine dull grey Scotland drab & dreech at that time of year !!

We also have had lovely weather during the day in January (really cold at night) but unfortunately, even in PP the weather cannot be guaranteed at this time of year.

Weather obviously variable. Number of restaurants do a fixed price 'special' menu but necessary to book early. O Lume seems best value as from memory Stay, C'uan Currasca, Yatch Club etc all 100 euro per head plus (excellent wines/Cava) - Yatch Club seemed a bit 'elitist' when we went as most of the other diners seemed to be club members.

Have seen the New Year in at Trio's for the last two years and yes it is 90 euro's but well worth it. Drink on arrival,an excellent menu supported by good range of wines, and then after dinner the dancing starts and the waiters circulate with plates of chocolates and fruit kebabs.Drinks vouchers on tables so no need to spend any extra and then as dawn breaks Hot chocolate and ensemadas if you have survived until then. Nice souvenir (glass or ceramic to take away in your party bag!!!. But you do need to book.
