Sorry to report that Grant Schapps has just announced that Majprca will revert to Amber from 4.00 a.m. on monday next.

That screws up my insurance then.

Anyway, pass it on to those that need to know.

Well Bootledodger,

At present it is only going to:( from Monday next at 4.00 a.m., with, I suppose, another review in 3 weeks time. Unfortunately, Flight and Insurance wise for me, that is one week to late!!

Surely your insurance is based on FCO advise not whether a country is amber or green?

Hi Bircho,

Yes, it is, your right. Now I may have miss-read the advice on the FCDO Website, but I read it as NOT Advised to go. If I have got that wrong (which I hope), then maybe you could correct me - any help is better than none.

Regards

T

It was changed shortly after Balearics changed to green watch list a couple of weeks ago. It used to be advise against non essential travel but they downgraded it for 20 countries including the whole of Spain.

Well done you Bircho. You are a lifesaver!!!

I have actually found something about that, (after a few hours scouring through the FCDO website, and not getting anywhere) on a BBC News page. Thanks.

The only thing now is to make sure that recall or cancellation is covered on our insurance, in case it goes Red whilst we are there - God forbid.

Regards

T:)

yeah, don't think it affects those with double jabs or under 18's.

The Port of Pollença will host the 1st European Hydroaviation Congress.

Translated from the UH here.... https://www.ultimahora.es/noticias/...a-acogera-congreso-europeo-hidroaviacion.html

The Port of Pollença will host the 1st European Hydroaviation Congress
It will be held from September 23 to 25 and will include speakers and working groups from thirteen countries.

The Fundació Aeronàutica Mallorquina (FAM) and the Iberian Association of Amphibious Aviation (AIDAA) have organized the I European Hydroaviation Congress that will take place from September 23 to 25 at the Hotel Playa Mar in Port de Pollença .

The event will bring together congressmen and speakers from thirteen European countries, as well as renowned personalities in the world of aviation who will offer conferences and talks on the field of hydroaviation in Europe, both private, sporting and commercial.

One of the highlights of this first call will be the promotion of Mallorca as the future headquarters of the European Hydroaviation Federation. On Saturday 25 the presentation of the first conclusions of the working groups on the statutes of the European federation is scheduled and the call for candidatures will also be held to constitute the executive group of the European Hydroaviation Federation as well as the organization of the congress of the year 2022.

Program
The congress will host five working groups that will determine the logistical needs of hydroaviation in Europe , such as the establishment of common regulations and standards, training and qualifications at the European level and the creation of schools for seaplane pilots .

From the FAM, the necessary permits are processed so that several models of international seaplanes can make flights on the afternoon of Saturday 25, in view of the citizens from the bay

Looking forward to seeing the flying boats in action this weekend - have usually missed this event.

better put the stuff into the container

https://www.majorcadailybulletin.co...ollensa-mallorca-environment-regulations.html

Pollensa town hall has opened 55 sanctions procedures for breaches of environment regulations. ...

... There have been seven for dumping rubbish and garden remains next to containers and not in them. The fine is 300 euros.

Maria Buades, the environment councillor, says that one of the main problems is misuse of containers - leaving bags of rubbish on the ground or putting stuff into the wrong container.

see full details on the MDB website

This is the wrong thread for this question, but where does one find what is permitted in waste containers. Also, it there a refuse dump for stuff like old furniture?

This is not in the wrong place, you are quite right to ask.

This is the answer, general household rubbish goes in black bins, glass goes in green, plastic goes in yellow and cardboard goes in blue. There is a dump but i can`t tell you off the top of my head, i will have to look it up ;).
