We have only eaten there the once. We were slightly disappointed but I think that was perhaps because we had such high expectations.

Nevertheless, it is obvious that for many it was one of the highlights of their PP stay and it is always a shame when a "fave" closes.

Best wishes to Jamie and the staff for their futures

Its good we all have different tastes,my favorite restaurant in Pollenca hardly ever gets a mention! but there you go!!

What's your favourite restaurant?

It usually seems a little superfluous to post when my views have already been presented so eloquently (by Smiddy & sws in particular) but this is very sad news and I just wanted to add for Jaime: Many thanks for everything- the port will not be the same without your excellent restaurant. From our first visit (back in the old location) we’ve always been incredibly impressed with the quality of the food and impeccable service: The wonderful steaks (cooked to perfection), the amazing fried milk, the incredible tapas at lunchtime, the succulent Calderetas, all the fantastic seafood dishes … and of course the champagne cocktails followed by the Santiago Roma albariño!
Good luck to you and the rest of your team – if you are able to stay reasonably close to Puerto Pollensa then we’ll be sure to visit you when we’re next out.

Thank you Doogz! Never thought i'd see the words eloquent/Smiddy in the same post:)

I have to say I'm with you Smiddy. I fully understand that British tourist want to eat what might be familiar, but the result is that Restaurants that serve largely local cuisine suffer. Shame.

This just goes to show what a diverse lot we and long may we continue to be,thats what makes the world go round.Obviously Jaime was well loved,we wish him well.

totally agree, I recently posted about the loss of a kebab shop which was a favourite of ours, nothing special to some but had a lot of memories for us when kids were wee and would only eat chips with tomato sauce, each to their own and PP can offer it all from 5 star dining to kebabs

I am really shocked by this news. Will be a miss for us along with many others i'm sure. Good luck to the staff in finding new employment.

Hi Pep Man,Pasada di Ariyant, much under publicsed and under valued.Great Mallorcan food, friendly staff and good setting tucked away in the corner of the sq.

Really shocked and saddened to read this news - our visits were always a holiday highlight. Won't be quite the same for us without O'lume.

Thanks - On the list to check out in October !

This is really sad news. O'Lume has been a family favourite for a number of years, both at the previous and current location. During last years holiday our family voted the two best dishes served in PP were at O'Lume ( sea bass baked in salt and duck with plum sauce). We wish Jaime and his staff all the very best for the future.
Sparky, when you see Jaime please pass on our best regards, thanks.

I know Jaime usually reads the forum so hopefully he will have seen all of the comments but he might be too busy trying to find a job so i will pass them on when i speak to him later :).

Just found out about O'Lume, Can't believe it, it was our favourite. Booked for July to coincide with wedding anniversary and O'Lume would have been our choice for that evening. Hope Jaime reads this, all the best to him and his staff.

Never eat in O'Lume didnt do anything for us when looking in but that doesnt matter its always sad when a business closes that was loved by so many of you on here.:(

Not that it matters, but did you not visit the garden at the back, would be strange if anyone never found that impressive.

Oh no, that's terrible!! Only went for the first time last year and it was the best meal of the whole holiday. We are back in PP with friends this June and had planned to take them there as one of our party will be celebrating their 40th birthday. That is really sad x

Devastated. Been going to O Lume for many years. Great food and brilliant service from Jaime. A lovely man. Hope something comes up for you soon Jaime.
