Tractor path on the beach ...

We might have movement ;)

Tractor path just now on the beach beside Tamarells.

From what I can gather from the tender platform, they dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's and it's finally getting on the way, after opening envelopes, looking at the one bidder, having a technical examination of the bids for the different sections and a few meetings to go through all the required steps.

The hotel sector in Pollensa is concerned about the lack of services on three beaches of the Port at the beginning of July. ...

... In this second process, the Port Resident Association (AVP), which has been awarding the contract for some 40 years, has applied and expects to win. In fact, no other company has applied, so if all the AVP’s documentation is correct, the concession will be formalised shortly.

Council sources have reported that this week the cleaning and preparation of the beach is expected to start so that once the contract is ready, sunbeds and umbrellas can be installed as soon as possible....

What about the toilets and bars? No doubt the workers will need a drink and the loo after all their hard work!
About time.

Well, well, well!

That didn't take long {not}.

Lets hope its all in place before end of August when we arrive - but there is always "manana".

So will that mean that the next 3 years are already secured by the tenderer, and we will not have to endure this debacle again. I really hope so. Not that we would go anywhere else anyway, to be honest.

I was under the impression that this forum, even in jest, was supposed to be apolitical.

Obviously I was wrong.

Digger on the beach at Tamarells this morning. Start of the works?
Looks like the windbreakers are finally getting removed.

A revised tender was issued in mid-June

Seventy days on from the official start of the summer tourism season and beaches in Puerto Pollensa and Cala San Vicente are finally being prepared for services - sunloungers, parasols, etc.

...

... a major stumbling block having been a 130% increase in the Pollensa town hall charge ...

...

And now finally the matter has been resolved, the town hall having posted images of the "conditioning" of the beaches on its Facebook account on Tuesday.

Albercuix beach has shades up and sunbeds set out, but for past two days they have been chained up so are unusable. What is the logic behind this.

They probably don't have the staff yet to collect the money and look after them.

La Roca said they would be opening this week, but no sign on Tuesday before I left. I'd suggest that Embat won't be opening this year, as there is no building in situ. Llaut had installed their building and were decorating it, so perhaps that will be opening soon.

Edit: Just saw that La Roca is open, serving food and already packed!
