We're not coming to PP this Summerwe're trying Lake Garda instead following many recommendations
However we will be back in PP for a week in October - yay
We have also enjoyed Nerja in the past, just for a change - it's a lovely town but we really missed not having a nice promenade to stroll along.
If you are staying near Riva Del Garda try the evening boat trip to Limone, you won't be disappointed.
Best beach visited is Rum Point in the Cayman Islands, great little bar, fantastic turquoise sea, hammocks under palm trees & the most gorgeous sunsets.

Anyone tried France
We have visited ST CYPRIEN a very quiet,clean resort on the coast near to Perpignan which incidentally used to be the capital city of Majorca,also COLLIURE another beautiful place. The area has miles of beautiful beaches,but you do need a car to fully explore,but there is an excellent bus service (1 euro each). Majorca Veteran

Its such a lovely looking place and we visited there last year on a cruise . Only thing is no sandy beaches. Enjoy .

We are not the sandy beach type people so should be ok. When I say we have moved on from PP we did a 4 night break last year at easter to PP .

Just what I love to see. Menus poorly written on blackboards and chips with everything. Class.....

Just got back from a stunning visit to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, a World Heritage Site and small fishing port with Lobster and Scallop boats. Had weather that would not disgrace PP at this time of year and the friendliest, most laid back people I've been lucky enough to meet. A wonderful experience.

We'll be visiting Pollensa this year for the first time since 2011 ( as someone upthread said, it's a big world and we like to do different things).
As for other trips this year, we've had three weeks in Tenerife in February, a week in Cyprus last month. We've a week booked in North Yorkshire, and there's the short UK breaks that we do when we see a bargain. And we're just planning a3 week trip to Florida (and not a single theme park in the plan).

Back in the Port late next week...2 nights Palma, 2 nights P.Soller and 1 night in old Alcudia before - PP will always be "home".
Love New York - there last year then onto Newport RI/Cape Cod/Boston/the Berkshires - some of the beaten track...real America. Been a few times to Washington, great city and touring Virginia/Maryland/N&S carolinas - absolutely love it. Remember a few years back staying in a beautiful little place in Maryland, the hotel we stayed in had never had any Brits staying there!...they thought we had come from Mars - but very welcoming....
Like to have mini-breaks in a number of UK locations - Dales/Lleyn penisula/Newquay(Wales) Dumfries & Galloway...all beautiful.

We've been to many of the places you mention, Bootledodger. Some really good drives and, as you suggest, you probably never hear another British accent the whole trip. Last year we planned a sort of music trip through Tennessee, the Carolinas and Virginia - seeking out places to hear country, blue grass and "old time" music. We took 3 weeks from Atlanta, to Nashville then up the back roads to northern Virginia (and back to Atlanta).

Just came back from a lovely week in Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. We chose this as we had a great time their last September and we thought it would be hotter than Majorca, and indeed it was. May go back in Feb next year for our winter holiday as a change to Gran Canaria.

I was lucky enough to have spent 7 years working in Argeles sur Mer near Collioure and Perpignan, in the 90's. Villages such as Castelnou are beautiful. The coastline, food, people were fantastic. Our treat during the winter seasons was a drive down to the Costa Brava on a Sunday and having a cafe con leche overlooking the sea, followed by a simple Sunday lunch.The bays around Begur are stunning. Another favourite was a Sunday lunch in the hills at Vajol. Happy memories.

We stayed at privately owned apartments caller La Avenida Apartments. There is a block of 6 just off of Calle Limones in a building called Casa Domingo. They are large, comfy, very well located and a reasonable price for two people. We had a large balcony and the sea was 10 meters away infront of us, so a great view, and the beach 50 meters away. There was a large sun terrace on the top floor too.
We booked with Loveholidays but you can also book direct with the owner. Just Google La Avenida Apartments by Ereza.
Great hamster by the way.

Got back last Monday from a lovely week in Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria.
Early to mid eighties during the day.
Enjoyed some lovely meals and thrashed Debs 5-1 in crazy golf although I did ( ahem ) let her win the game on her birthday.
Not a patch on PP but for a cheap week of hot winter sun you cannot beat it.
