We went to Pepe's for dinner last night, we had the evening MDD @ €12.50 a head. Starters was a huge bowl of home made soup of chicken and veg, bread and alioli, for mains we had suckling pig served with chips/salad and garlic mushrooms (other choices were fillet of beef or fish). Anyway we couldn't eat it all as it was just too much. For dessert we had ice-cream (gateaux, apple pie and trifle were also on offer).
The food was delicious and the service excellent, price included a very large glass of house wine which was very nice. I recommend Pepe's for good honest food at an amazingly low price, for anyone on a budget it is a must.:D
PS,Pepe's is situated in C/Mendez Nunez opposite the Flora apartments.

Used to use Pepe's lot's of times when the kids were young, as you say great value and the answer to a lot of people on a strict budget! As we've got older and the kids go elsewhere i think we have just grown out of it and tend to frequent the likes of El Posito and O Lume etc, but had many a good evening and a few laughs in there.

Agree Smiddy, 2 of the best eateries in PP. Just wanted to let peeps know that they can still have a good cheap meal in these difficult times.:D.

Pepes bar

Hi I am new to the forum so please forgive any mistakes. We had the MDD at Pepes last year. Paella/soup to start, followed by suckling pig or steak, gateaux for dessert with wine and water. Sometimes the menus are a bit confusing. I thought the paella was the main course and so completely struggled with the suckling pig that followed and completely gave up after that. My husband, bless him, didn't want to offend and managed to get through a huge bowl of soup - he thought it was the serving bowl - followed by an enormous steak and finally strawberry gateaux. A bit of a marathon to get through, but if you have a huge appetite and are sticking to a budget, well worth it.

Just back to rainy UK and had some great food throughout the week including the best value of a very generously portioned MDD at Pepes, homemade soup for me fab, spaghetti starter for my fiance which was bit more ordinary but we both had perfectly cooked sirloin steaks for main courses and tasty gateaux to squeeze in.
