This is a great website however I don't think the photo on the homepage does PP any justice - or is it just me ????

I like the picture pollensa, is it the far far end of the pine walk before you get to the military base? :)

I agree the picture is a little out of date as it was taken from the Pine Walk & looking back towards the Port. I think that the actual 'Pine' shown did get blown down in the storms but it is still my favourite view point!

I love the picture as well Pollensa. So what if it's dated, so are a lot of us PP fans.

Speak for yourself sparky

A nice PP overview could be from the formentor road, the corner where you can drive into the Fortaleza (obviously gated off). If not the top near the car park, however to get a good view of the port you need to walk a little bit.

One of the best overviews I've seen is the one we used for Talk of the North which someone sent us but it is banner shaped so it wouldn't be right for the Home Page. Maybe, when I have time, we could organise a photo competition & perhaps rotate photos on a monthly basis - what am I getting in to?! What do people think?

that would be a great idea, i like the competition one, sounds like fun

personally I think a few pictures on the homepage would be a good idea - say one of the pinewalk, one of the port, one of the square, one of Jose at Bonys etc.

I think keeping to basic views is the best as there are - believe it or not - people who dont actually like Bonys - for example- but everyone goes there for the views dont they?:)

I always have a picture of PP set as my desk top background - it is a lovely reminder of my holidays and the place I love the most.
A competition sounds good to me.
Sue.

Jose - Bonys - the pied piper of PP

I was really suggesting a photo of Jose himself rather than a picture of Bonys ( as well as scenic views .) Not all the people who enter this site have been to PP so they wouldn't have a clue who he is or where he works they will just think "this guy looks a jovial character- it looks like a fun place."

Even if it did have a picture of Bonys you can't suit everybody and I suggest the people who don't like it are in the minority or it wouldn't be packed out all the time.

By showing a few pictures on the homepage rather than just the one it could potentially show people who haven't visited PP before that it has something to offer for people of all ages and tastes.Over 90% of the people who view this website will not be members and a large percentage will never have visited PP & they just want to know what it has to offer at a glance.

there should be a bonys on the front
but its like a menu if you dont like it
yuu dont order it do you.
easy as ABC
tbh

I believe that the general consensus is to use views of Puerto Pollensa which I will look at doing when I have time. A discussion of Bonys in this thread regarding the home page of www.puertopollensa.com is really not relevant & only antagonises people as we've already seen on the other threads.

I think the photo on the home page is great, its PP as it should be, calm sea and an air of peacefulness!, and I'm the biased CSV lover!!!!!

Pollensa, i have collected quite a lot of photos over the years. Huge variation of PP views. From helicopter overviews to plain simple beach shots. I will get them resized and send the best ones over, if you want to use them, be my guest, if not, no problem.

Thank you Nick. I'll certainly look at them.

As it stands we only have room for one photo at a time & I was thinking of running a competition & maybe changing the photo once a month. But it all depends on how much time I have as I do run the main website as well!

Nick, you could always upload them to the flickR group for people to see.

Nick, do you or anyone else know where you can get copies of some of the black'n'white canvasses that adorn some of the restaurants. I am specifically thinking of the canvasses in Suttons and Brisa marina (I think) or it might be los Faroles.
