Pollensa Half Marathon

Just signed up for this race anyone else doing it?

My husband did it a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it - and got a decent time. He said the atmosphere when you reach the old town and the crowds are there to cheer you really lifts flagging spirits. One word of warning: even if it doesn't seem that hot (which it wasn't when he ran it), the sun is much stronger than in the UK and on a couple of the more exposed roads where there is little shade quite a few people, even very experienced and fit runners, were struggling. So: maybe wear a hat, take some water on board at the refreshment stops, and make sure the back of your neck is protected. When he did it a snood-type thing was included in the freebie pack - he discarded it thinking it wouldn't be needed, but it's a useful bit of kit - he regretted his decision!

I just signed up tonight. Going to use it as part of my training run next weekend as I taper into the London Marathon. I really do need to make sure I don't start to race it - London is only 2 weeks after!

We only booked to come out to PP yesterday, and I didn't realise the Half Marathon was on next weekend until I read your post. So quite unexpected, but a very happy coincidence!

Poliesportiu, MA2200, giren per la Cova del Boter, carrer de la Mar, Pare Vives, Horta, plaça dels Seglars, carrer de Coronel Aloy, Juan Guiraud, Roser Vell, Sor Cifre de Colonya, Cecili Metel i poliesportiu.
Uncinckaeme 5 km will begin at 9.45 hours from the Sports Centre.

Itinerary:
Sports Centre, ma2200, flipped by the cave of boter, street of the sea, father vives, Horta, plaza dels seglars, street of Colonel Aloy, Juan Guiraud, Roser Vell, sister cifre of colonya, caecilius metella and Sports Centre.

Certainly the Puerto to Pollensa road and side roads leading into it, at least that is what the large yellow signs say from 09.00hrs to 13.00 hrs. the rest I do not know as I do not know the rooute
