Dear All,
I've been reading some of the old PP Forums this week, going back a couple of years. (Well, you need something to fill your days when you're retired. And I can't think of a better way.) It seems to me that people have been saying the same old thing over and over again - PP is not what it used to be, it's becoming too commercialised, it's going downhill; too many Chinese, Indian, American-style restaurants. Well I can put up with those places. I don't choose to eat there myself, but others can, that's fine. No problem.
I've only been going to PP for the last 6 years but I personally think it gets better and better each year. The character of the place is just unmatched; the atmosphere is unique; the location is ideal. I've been to some beautiful places in Italy, France and Spain. (Ok, so I've never been beyond the Med, which is fine by me.) But Puerto Pollensa has just got to be the best. It has something that I can't quite put into words. It's magical. Mystical, almost. As soon as I get into that taxi at Palma airport, knowing that within an hour I shall be in PP, well, that's where heaven begins for me. I know I'm only a two-week-a-year tourist, but that two weeks is just paradise. I could go anywhere in the world, any country, any continent. But PP is the place for me. From the first day I saw it, I knew it was the place for me. It struck a chord in my heart. (Are there chords in your heart? Where ever they are, they were struck!)
So, all you critics and knockers of PP, you can keep your negative thoughts to yourself, I'm not interested. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. I love it and shall keep on returning. As long as I still have the air fare, I'll keep going back.
See you all in 38 days, 13 hours! I can't wait.
