it's great to have the Sail & Surf cam back, but I am wondering if the sailing school has closed for good or is it because of covid?

There's a (German) post on their Facebook page from 18/05, relating to the season 2021, saying that they likely can only do yacht and J /70 courses this season.
At the time of the update they didn't believe they will be able to run courses with the beach fleet, as there's a four week build up required and that can only happen, if they can be sure to be open for a longer time and can fill the courses to a minimum.
In addition, the municipality can't/won't give them a licence for a smaller beach fleet.
The only option is a licence for the whole season and the whole beach fleet.

Fingers crossed there'll be some sort of flexibility by the municipality and a return of the jolly sailors and surfers in the bay this season.

I don't know but this might not be down to the municipality, it could be a Costas issue, they are not being very helpful at the moment .

Given the location for a lot of the Sail and Surf gear, I well believe it's the Costas sticking to the rule book. Rather taking no money for no licence, than an adjusted amount for an adjusted licence.
Given that Sail and Surf are there for such a long time, its difficult to understand.

How lovely to see the parasols up at the Miramar. I hope they get enough bookings to make it worthwhile opening..
I noticed Casa Vila di Mare have cleared their terrace so maybe they have had second thoughts on opening just now.
How I would love to be in PP enjoying the sun and having the important decision of where to eat that evening!

Some ‘wild’ weather on the webcams today - yacht run aground passed Tamarells Beach Bar - expect more have broken there moorings as well.

The yacht seems to have disappeared now:confused:

The seemallorca webcam is slightly misaligned today.

Thank You for fixing the Camera.
Now i can keep an eye on everything till we arrive on the 20th

New lifeguard tower on Tamarells beach? Or is it a case of looking at the webcam every day and not noticing it? ;)

There seems to be a lot of activity on Miramar webcam this afternoon. Perhaps preparing for a wedding?
Beautiful setting on a beautiful day if it is!

Yes there was a wedding there today. Apparently the groom pitched up in a speed boat to the sounds of the James Bond theme music!

Maybe the Sahara sand has got into the workings..

Following showing on the See Mallorca webcam:

"With apologies, after many years of service this webcam has died. A new camera has been ordered and will be installed soon"

(I couldn't find any post drawing attention to the now dead webcam. Apologies if I am repeating a previous post.)
