Hi everyone. Just joined, and reading the bypass thread with great anxiety! Does "Llenaire roundabout" mean the one on the sea-front by Pepe's restaurant? (Restaurant Llenaire/Siurell Grill) This is the point where the road through the fields reaches the sea-front road - is this where the new road will start?
Beginning to look as though we will need to find a new holiday destination......

As I understand it the new road (part 2) cuts across the fields i.e. you go out along the road from the Llenaire roundabout (away from the sea) towards the fields etc. & when you reach the end of the housing, that's where it will cut across. We are going out in Feb & hope to visit the 'ajuntament' in Pollensa to see the plans.

Thank you very much for your incredibly prompt reply. I have tried looking on the "ajuntament" website for the plans, but failed dismally! It would be great to hear the precise details if you have them after your visit. I think we will hold off the holiday booking for a while.

No need to put off booking for this year. I very much doubt if the building will start by this summer since the first part is not even finished yet. The bit to Formentor 'should' be finished by Easter but Summer is more likely.

Our apartment is close to the first bit (in the Boquer area) & the road building hasn't bothered us at all. Not nearly as much as other building (i.e. of new apartments) which has stopped for the moment now anyway.

We have booked for the Pollensa Park apartments (formerly Bellemar) for Summer 2004. Could you advise us if they are anywhere near this bypass. I think they face the sea front . Concerned about what disruption we might expect and whether we should consider changing our booking. would be grateful for any advice.

As mentioned above they are still working on Stage 1 which will be from the Boquer valley roundabout & up towards Formentor. This should be done by the Summer.

There is currently no sign of Stage 2 which will be behind Llenaire & away from your apts so I really wouldn't worry about it but I'm afraid I don't have any specific info. Will try & find out when I visit in Feb.

Thanks Pollensa for your quick reply. Glad I don't have anything to worry about. This will be our second trip to PP last summer we fell in love with the resort. I know the apartments we have booked in for 2004 face the sea front but I didn't know what was at the back!! Cant wait for the summer!: Happy New Year to you and thanks once again.

Does this new road infringe on the playamar apts?

Just noticed that since 1st Jan no-one has discussed the ring road - by pass. Just thought I would let you know that it looks like the 2nd stretch of the Phase I will be opening within the next week or so as they have now tarmaced it and this morning I noticed they are painting in the lines. That goes from behind La Vall/Church up to the new school - close to Puerta Azul and before Belresguard apartments. The road is running well, well lit and certainly makes moving around from one side of Port to the other quicker. I also understand that the bit up to the Football field is due to be completed by Easter (read, anytime after May . . .) I think it is good news for PP and the job seems to have been done well - attractive roundabouts in place, traffic lights alongside the zebra crossing for people coming from Siller etc. etc. Happy Motoring . . .

By-Pass

Many thanks for update on by-pass. We are arriving mid- May, and, for the first time in five visits, are moving from the Puerto Azul to Illa D'Or. Will we be affected by the start of Phase 2 / completion of Phase 1. Also, is there an updated map of PP available?
