Hi just to say a big Thank you to all the people who advertise their property on here as I got 100% response rate..thank you. Other websites you either dont a repsonse or get one some 3 weeks after you sent a request..dont get it perhaps my 11 night booking wasnt enough. Anyway all fixed up for next summer after a break of visiting PP of 4 yrs or so.

Yes it is true but the rest of the website including the forum will not be affected.

Couldn't agree more! We've had 6 holidays in PP from 4 advertisers on this website (went to a couple of apartments twice). It was a joy to deal direct with friendly owners who were prompt, efficient and helpful - and clear and honest about what was being offered.

I wholly agree with what's been said in the above posts. The pp.com private rentals section is excellent and it will be a significant loss when it closes on 01 Oct. I have trusted those adverts and the pp.com process for many years.

So -

Please can someone give advice as to which websites are good to use and are trusted (as has been the case with pp.com) for private rentals in our favourite resort. Thanks.

I realise that many of you will be disappointed but we will no longer be taking advertising for Private Rentals on PuertoPollensa.com from Oct 1st.

There have been many advances in technology, in particular on mobile platforms, provision of facilities such as online booking and payment as well as changes in EU legislation and changes to EU VAT which our technical platform cannot support. Unfortunately as a very small company (mainly me!) we do not have the resources to meet these demands so with considerable sadness we have felt obliged to make these changes to our website.

Instead we will be promoting Private Rentals from other rental websites who do offer more advanced facilities.

The website puertopollensa.com will continue to operate as before, focussing on the destination Puerto Pollensa and offering advertising in various areas and none of these changes affect the forum.

If you are interested in any of the properties currently advertised on puertopollensa.com/rentals do make your enquiries before the end of the month.

Just wanted to say I will miss the rental adverts on this website. Everytime I have contacted one you always get a response, the adverts were always easy to look at and the calenders for that matter. Thank you to the property owners for an excellent service plus a thanks to the website for having these adverts.

Recently done a rental privately and so little details about what was available in the appartment whereas the ones on this website were so clear You knew about fans . heating ,kitchen equipment. outside space everything in fact Veryclear

More research will be needed now !

Most adverts include a phone number - it may be worth taking s note of any numbers for properties that interest you so that you have them for future years.

I am really sorry this feature is going. I have found some great properties for us and others over the years. Yesterday I went through most of the properties and saved the pages as Pdf files of those with phone numbers which may be of interest in the future. I have always felt very confident booking these properties.

Rental for Next Year

Hi Everyone

I had a great holiday, and am now in process of booking next year - actually I have probably already committed for Crespi, on the road to Formentor. However, I would welcome any comments from Forum members as to the suitabiliity of this place - 5 adults, 3 kids - yes, taking the family,

Missing apartments

I'm a bit confused now that the adverts for private apartment rentals have gone. I've booked two apartments (one for Oct and one for 2016) that I found on here and I just wanted to check a couple of details for them but of course the adverts have gone now. I thought it would be a simple case of using the link to the HomeAway search to find them, but no joy. So I tried a general internet search but still nothing, it's like the apartments I've booked have totally disappeared from the internet which is worrying me a bit. Am I missing something obvious here?

This site no longer allows owners to advertise but if people who used to advertise now decide to advertise with a company called Home and Away Rentals then this site will provide a link to the new advert

The problem is that many of the people who used to advertise with this site do not want to advertise with Home and Away for various reasons - cost to advertise is a lot more expensive and also many owners I have spoken to only wanted to rent on this site because they wanted people who were just interested in Puerto Pollensa rather than people who are just searching for a holiday in general. The logic being that they felt happier renting to people who wanted a PP type holiday.

So many of the properties would only have been advertised on this site - now they are probably not advertised anywhere - hence no internet presence

You would have communicated directly with the people you booked with so perhaps you could contact them via email or by telephone

Thanks so much for your explanation - I understand now! But what a shame - I always used this site to find rentals and have loads saved as favourites which I can't use now
Thankfully, I do still have the email addresses for the two I have booked!

I didnt realise that HomeAway were going to take over some of the properties

I looked at a property on Home Away then went on to a local villa compay via this link and they seem very easy to deal with as their English is excellent and very prompt replies ( we will know next September if alll is well !! ) but HomeAway now contact me daily to book something !!!!!

I liked the fact with the in house booking system that if there was a problem with a property we would soon hear about it It is always a gamble We rented the same great apartment for many years until it was sold

There has been a lot of fraud in the rental business I know and for people after large villas it is quite difficult with passing over the payment as we only rent somewhere smaller we hope we are OK !!
