Resort Hoppa or Car

Hi folks,

I'm heading out to Puerto Pollensa on the 27th April & I can't decide whether to transfer from the airport via ResortHoppa or a hire car. I am travelling with my husband, sis-in-law & 80 year old mum-in-law so it needs to be as hassle free as possible.

The ResortHoppa would cost £60 return for the 4 of us. I normally use Carjet for a car (have scanned the forum & not seen them mentioned) & the cost would be around £140. The benefit of the car would be that we could stock up at the supermarket easily & potentially take the odd day trip.

Any advice gratefully received.

Hi and welcome Pam, its a difficult one and really only a choice you can make your self, I for one would always choose the car option, the whole point of DIY holidays is the choice it gives you, the thought off having to rely on a coach transfer again would fill me with dread, you could be lucky and be the first ones off or you could be unlucky and have a tour of the island. Resorthoppa does has a lot of fans on here, you can be lucky and not have to wait too long for one and be the first off the other end.
Not sure how mobile your mum-in-law is but it would be handy to have the car as you say for shopping, trips around if the weather isn't nice or to use for traveling further afield in the resort. What ever you decide I am sure you will all have a great time when you do arrive.

I would have to say that based on a trip with my 80 year old mum-in-law, I would hire a car. If it was just us & we didn't have an apartment to sort out & a business to take care of, I would use resorthoppa & I have done when visiting on my own.

Apart from Carjet, do look at our other options on Discount Car Hire - Mallorca - Majorca - Palma Airport.

I would have to say car on this occasion.

Resorthoppa is great value but will be a longer journey and no benefit of having a car to go for days out etc. Particularly with an elderly person in the group.

I would say car as its not too expensive at this yime of year, avoid Record as they have long waits at the airport, my colleage repoted a wait of 1 hr 12 mins which is disgracefull.

Many thanks for all your responses. I think we were heading towards the hire car but just wanted to ask advice. I had looked at all the car hire firms mentioned on here but Carjet seems to be the cheapest for the size of car we want. Plus we've used them many times before with no issue.
