Hi it is under new ownership. I asked the boss when visiting El Casinet last week
:)

Anymore info on 'Osteria' in the port square being opened by the owners of Il Giardino?
Thanks

Yes anymore? Reading through a guide book to Rome, we are off in three weeks, I know, we could have gone to the wine festival!!!! Found a reference to Osteria...quote
"An Osteria was once the humblest type of Italian eating place, but now tends to describe new and unstuffy restaurants serving simple, often innovative, food in relaxed surrounding"

Sounds good to me!

New ice cream parlour.

There is a new ice cream parlour in PP, it's in the square in what was Makassar Lounge :).

Any reviews on these new places yet, anyone tried them? Would be interested to hear about Osteria N15 and also Bellavista since the changes with the restaurant!

Let us hope there are no more "logs" in Bella Vista if there are new owners! I must admit that put me off going there completely!

Its not new owners, I think the restaurant is being run by La Cantina2 this year, not sure if its a permanent arrangement.

Me too, my see you there, I am wondering what changes there might be, its always difficult when your favorite place changes! Their updates of FB look promising, lots of pictures of beautiful looking food being prepared, and garden looks the same!

Will have a look at their facebook site. We stay at the Flora so always buy our sandwiches from La Cantina2 at lunchtime. My parents go to Bellavista for coffee every day when they are out, my dad went out and bought a Jack Johnson CD after hearing it there .... they are both in their 80's!! :) I wonder if it will still be vegetarian?

As a lover of Jack Johnson music, I will now revisit and give it another chance! Thanks emmalou! ;)

It seems that what was Hardleys has been taken over, there is no proper sign as yet just a chalkboard saying "Victors Bar and Restaurant".

Yes I noticed it looked as if it was open the other day,but wasn't sure. good to see that someone has taken it on as much better that empty buildings.

OK a little more info..........Victors is run by Chinese and at the moment they are serving Spanish snacks/tapas and burgers, no draught beer (just bottled) and they don't speak any English :confused:;).

Well Victors was obviously a loser......it has closed down already .

From what you said about it previously, Sparky, it doesn't seem like they had the best business plan in the world... it isn't just PP, it happens here too, where you look at a new business which has clearly had time and money spent on it but just know it is doomed to failure...
