Just lately whenever I've been out to a pub or restaurant, I've noticed the wine measures are getting larger and larger.
Last week, I went out with my mum and the kids for a meal at a trendy new restaurant in MK (Giraffe) - Debs...you might know it.
Anyway, I had a look at the drinks menu and chose an American Zinfandel. It was only when the waitress asked what measure I wanted - small or large - that I noticed the price- £5.50 for a 250ml glass!!:eek
It worked out cheaper to buy a bottle of the house red which was a delicious South African Shiraz.
Anyone got any views on this? I know that 250ml is equivalent to a third of a bottle, but whatever happened to the 125ml measure?
175ml seems to be the norm these days and it can be worrying for people who have a couple of glasses and think they're OK to drive.
Plus, can anyone beat this price for a glass of wine??
