The Consell improve road Pollença-Alcúdia


The Consell de Mallorca will start next Monday the work of strengthening and improving the containment system in Pollença-Alcúdia road (Can Bisanyes). As reported by the insular institution in a statement, this route will be closed from Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 19.00 until 16 May . the Consell improve this way since it is a stretch where the firm is very deteriorated and aged. The work has been awarded to the company Matias Arrom Bibiloni, the budget for the project is 931,861.56 euros and the execution period is three months. Specifically, first carry out the cleaning of sidewalks and removal of firm contaminated. Then he will start with the paving of the entire pathway and wooden barriers will be installed to improve containment systems to those most dangerous areas. The Consell recommends that locals use secondary roads to move while the work. Finally , the department of Planning and Infrastructure has apologized to all the people who could be affected by the works and recalled that all information on incidents on the roads can be found on the map of incidents of Consell.

The road in question is the Ma-2201, this is the road that runs from the cockerel roundabout in Pollensa all the way up to the main road into Alcudia, there are a lot of villas on this road so you may need to find an alternative route Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 19.00 until 16 May!

Inici devers les 8:30 hores del matí.

Important! La parada de bus del carrer Temporal estarà fora de servei, de les 08:00 hores fins les 14:00 hores. Les parades més pròximes les trobareu als carrers Cavall Bernat i Cala Molins.

The Thomas Cook Ironman Mallorca takes place this Saturday 24th.

Here are some of the road closures: 07.30-17.30: Playa de Muro (Banca March roundabout) to Magic roundabout. 07.30-11.00: Playa de Muro (Banca March roundabout) to Can Picafort (Eroski roundabout). 08.00-11.30: Can Picafort to Maria de la Salut and beyond. 09.30-17.30: Muro to the Fish Hook roundabout (Puerto Alcudia / Playa de Muro boundary) via Sa Pobla and Es Murterar. 10.00-18.00: Sant Marti bypass (behind Bellevue) to the Es Murterar roundabout. 10.00-14.30: Alcudia to Puerto Pollensa and on to Pollensa. 10.00-15.30: Pollensa into the mountains via Lluc. 11.00-16.30: Selva to Muro via Campanet and Buger.

Re-surfacing work has started on the Pollensa road, the road won't be closed completely but there is bound to be disruption at times. The Ma-2200 from the Cockeral roundabout in Pollensa to the Aeroplane roundabout in Puerto Pollensa and the Ma-2203 for access to the Cala San Vicente is to get a new surface at a cost of 1.721.291,47€ and work will last up to 3 months.

I didn't recall there being much wrong with the surface back in August, so timely maintenance is to be applauded - like, don't wait till the roof leaks before taking action.

I have the number for Lancashire County Council if the powers that be would be minded to sell on the second hand surface for re-use in our neck of the woods.

Austerity and dubious officialdom have taken the toll of any ability to maintain the roads and much more.
