Rush Hour Traffic into Palma/Airport

Coming out to PP in a week or so and already thinking about the journey back as we always go wrong taking the hire car back into the airport...What I need to know really is what is the traffic like going in to Palma as we have to have the hire car back at 9am and check in at 9.15 on a Monday morning. We usually allow an hour from PP but does Palma have rush hour?

Rush hour into Palma Airport

We have done the journey at similar times before and it can be quite difficult. We have driven right through on the motorways and got stuck by accidents and tried the "short cut" coming off and going cross country by Son Ferriol and got held up by the industrial traffic. Now, we leave about half an hour longer for the journey and have breakfast at the airport rather than in PP.

an hour is PLENTY, the only thing that might slow you down is the staff at the airport car hire and so-on!
