Excellent report Whaley i especially liked the "like a monkey after bananas" comment lol!!!, so glad you enjoyed your first Sant Antoni as i have said before it's my favourite fiesta. Looking forward to seeing your photos .

Bella, no need to check next year's calendar the fiesta will be 16th/17th Jan as always and this will fall on a Monday and Tuesday .

Definitely PP, taken outside the church looking towards Can Torrens. I actually know the lad that who took the video there is another one on his playlist of earlier attempts.

Sparky - I've just watched this clip and never realised that so many would be on the pine pole at once! It's hilarious! I just kept thinking about the horror this would be greeted with here in the UK - imagine the elf 'n' safety reaction - no helmets, no knee pads and not queuing in an orderly manner to take your turn, no protective 'mattress' to break their fall!! In a way I'm glad I was not there - dont think I would have dared to watch!

Rosie when we were there two years ago I could hardly watch It's nerve wracking to say the least!!! The tree this year looks thicker..not sure if that makes it easier to climb or not , suppose it depends how long your arms and legs are!

As you say elf n safety goes out the window...cant imagine it being allowed in the UK.

Hi Debz - and I thought the tree looked very thin - especially at the top and just couldnt imagine it supporting anyone up there! But I suppose they've been doing it for umpteen years and never lost one yet - or not that we have heard about

This was my 3rd year and every one has been different....longer, shorter, thicker, thinner, straight or a bendy bit near the end..............i guess that's what makes it so much fun girls .
