Also interested in this, I receive almost daily posts from them to my Facebook feed but have never gone any further than to look at their villas purely because they don't publish any prices!

It seems crazy not to put any prices. Most people will simply go elsewhere. Not really sure about the thinking behind that.

IMHO the website is also rather amateurish. Puts you off when you may be paying them several thousand pounds for a property.

I had a quick look at their website and, would not touch them with a barge pole.

The language and style make me suspicious let alone the lack of detail.

The old adage "Buyer Beware" applies.

Select Family Villas are a local company who have advertised on the main website on Rent Villas, Apartments from Local Agents in Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca Majorca for over 10 years. I can see that their website is not very helpful but I have not had any adverse feedback about the company.

They give full contact and company details on their contact page Select Family Villas Contact Us I WOULD be very wary about booking via a website that did not give a postal address on its website.

Thanks for you replies.I was going to book through HomeAway,Jimbo so i was hoping that my money would be safe.And by credit card.
If they have been advertising on this website for ten years Pollensa surely someone has used them and could enlighten me.I looked on google maps and they do indeed have premises just outside Pollensa but they do look a bit weather beaten.

Be very careful of HomeAway. I was scammed last year. My villa was hacked and sold on without my knowledge. Apparently happens a lot with HomeAway which is also Ownersdirect!

Be very careful that you are dealing with the real owner. Use Paypal or credit cards.

We rented our villa out via Select for a number of years - they are totally legitimate and I'm not aware of any problems that guests had with their properties - we certainly didn't ever get negative feedback and someone always seemed to be available whenever there was a maintenance issue which needed attention..The lady who runs the company has been working in the holiday rentals market for many years (she previously worked for Prestige). Because they are a relatively small local company they possibly don't appear as slick as other companies which have more staff, shiny new offices and operate on a much larger scale - on the other hand, the service you get is perhaps more personalised. We eventually moved elsewhere to a company that gave us a guaranteed rental income (Select simply paid a percentage of the weeks actually sold). I do take your point about the website - we moved from them just prior to the explosion in online booking so it was never really a problem for us. However, as I said it's a while since we had any contact with them. Maybe look on one of the Trip Advisor forums to see if anyone has a more recent experience?
