Wonder if the cyclists will give way to the pedestrians who use the zebra crossing?

Unfortunately not many road users (including police and guardia) give way at the crossings but i was told that there is no firm legal requirement to do so .

Hi
Looking at the pictures Sparky posted they don't show stop lines on the road section for cars so that makes it 50/50 but they do show stop lines on the cycle lanes in both directions indicating right of way for pedestrians to the road section that's my take on it.

My take is proceed with caution when crossing as anything could happen !

Cyclists used to be very slow travellers looking at the scenery but that has all changed I had a very near miss with one locally driving nasty road but looked both ways a few times moved out slowly ( luckily ) and he had zoomed down the hill hidden by overhanging trees and was dressed all in black on a dark bike

Really shook me up

yeah it looks like pedestrians have the right of way.

I still think knickers are getting twisted re the cycle lane and it will be used by strollers with real cyclists doing real cycling using the bypass.

Haha you've got to be kidding Hoopy last year cyclists were bombing along the cycle lane  But all will be ok if you step onto the lane and wave your hand in the air...apparently :D

After 6 or 7pm when cars cannot drive up that stretch does anyone know if that applies to cyclists too?

I asked the same question this morning! It would make sense if the closure applied to bikes as well, the idea is for people to be able to stroll up and down, extra chairs outside the restaurants, kids running around, so you wouldn’t want bikes up and down, a bit like the Pinewalk!

Viewing the webcam this morning, it looks like they are cracking open the Saturday overtime budget. Preparing for final tarmacing of the road, perhaps?

Now then, how about the uneven paving on the Pine Walk. I know it looks 'traditional' and I like it, but a broken ankle is not a price worth paying for 'tradition'.

They have done quite a lot of work on the Pinewalk during the winter including installing new lighting.

As of tomorrow 21st March the paved section from Ave Paris to the roundabout will be open to one way traffic from 7am until 6pm, it will be only open for pedestrians from 6pm until 7am .

The work to tarmac the road from Ave Paris to Llenaire is due to be completed before Easter, when this is done the furniture will be installed and landscaping will be planted :D.

There has been a change in the hours and there will be a low speed limit, this has been posted by the ajuntament on FB :-

The schedule in which you will be able to circulate with motor vehicles for the ride is 5 H until 18 h. From 18 h until 5 H of the next day the ride will remain with use exclusively pedestrian.

Although there will be physical barriers is asking for the utmost with regard to the pedestrian hours and that during the motorized schedule shall comply with the limitation of speed (20 km / H).

Beat me to it, it looks fantastic, so glad to see the back of that road surface, so uncomfortable and dangerous on a bike!! :):):)

Last year we arrived to help wire up the Street lights. Glad to see the road will be completed when we arrive again 2 weeks today. So nothing for us to do . Great Job Nearly Done ..
