Frontline Puerto Pollensa

Pollensa Council are considering the draft for the proposed semi-pedestrianization of the first line of the Port.

It has room to modify 50% of the project so it will study the possibilities to make deeper changes than those initially planned, i.e. Moving all cars to the second line.

However, the modifications are subject to various factors and the council has yet to confirm whether the changes are economically acceptable.

It is expected that work on the front line of Puerto will start on November 1.

Although the council is aware of the timeline, it does not imagine that the work will be carried out in one six-month stint.

They plan to carry out the work over two winters.

The project was budgeted at just over 1.4 million and was awarded to nearly 1.1 million.

The Council accepts (Together-UMP) has requested the Consortium Promotion Tourism and the Council of Mallorca FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE Introducir the changes, necesarios the Project of semipeatonalización the front of the dock to ALLOW the area sea of exclusive use for those viandantes at least a few hours a day.

The consortium is now waiting for the economic valuation of the changes to be introduced before the Consistory to approve the modified site.

What is certain is that the works are carried out in two semipeatonalización winters and will start on 1 November. During the course of these may introduce some of the changes proposed.
The main change is to replace part of asphalt pavers to prioritize pedestrian use. Encrypt Bennàssar confirmed the intention of the Consistory to favor exclusive use for pedestrians from 20.00.

Well we only have 22 days to wait .

I really don't think it will start on November 1st because it's a public holiday in Spain .

The times we have heard this one .Mrs P would not let such a sight ruin the holiday market in the Port. I don't know about you residents and regular visitors but the sight of El Tel wandering about in a state of undress would make visitors to Magaluf seem upmarket.

There's a public meeting tomorrow, Tuesday at 20:00 hours, in the parish hall of the port apparently, to discuss the proposed modifications to the plans.

Ah , a meeting to discuss changes to a plan previously agreed at a meeting

Yes indeed, as per my other post, it looks like my clothes will be staying attached, but was It ever in doubt. Before you know it, they will have to have a meeting to agree a meeting to replace the postponed meeting.


PS. As I recall, they were going to complete the work over two winters. They just forgot to mention they would be ice age winters

They can still implement the original plans which have approval already, the changes they want to make are following suggestions form locals and businesses that will change some of the road plans and maybe even make it fully pedestrianised after 8 at night, which I think is a great idea!!
