Hi Favie, hope you are well. Yes I suppose that's right, keep forgetting it's only one way! Nice looking lights anyway!

Lots of action today on the webcam, digging up the rest of the road towards the Polly park turning, I can count 9 people working!! :)

Eh.. there was...seems to be a coffee break now!

Looking great.

The footpath in front of the Hotel Romantic finally getting his comeuppance. ;)

And liking the new width of the footpath on the near side.

Where will the cycle path run?

I would say the sea side, with parking on the other side, the cars would have to cross the cycle lane otherwise, and it would join up with the existing one that runs along to Alcudia on the sea side

They have started on the streetlights, they seem to be fitting the ones on the seaside the wrong way around, saw the pics on FB!!!
Think this may be the way they are installing them now. The new ones in C'an Picafort/Alcudia are positioned to shine on the service road and not on the main road.

Lunchtime update, they are almost up to the corner this side digging up the path and now past the restaurant with the kerb stones on the other, they are also laying the bands of tiles in the path to break up the expanse of concrete. Sparky forecast rain later and looking at the sky is doesn't look promising!! It looks like they have set up a microwave on the wall to cook lunch, honestly have a look!!

Apart from the street lighting, more or less finished.

Sorry for the misinformation. I was referring to the "one way" bit, where they have just started putting up the lights as we speak.

They seem OK.

Cars now driving down from the road on the Torre Mar corner, in other words the last road before La Gola.

Pavement in front of the park going through it´s final touches so when finished all the land side pavement up to the Sea Bar will be finished.

The sea side pavement up to Avda Paris is finished as well.

can you give me a link to the webcams you guys are using please

Sorry but we can't allow a direct link as it's to a competitor but if you Google "Seemallorca" you will find it ;).

My wife and I have arrived in PP today - our first visit since September last year. The weather is not good and we were disappointed but that paled into insignificance when we saw the works going on along the front and in particular the concrete pavements. Lovely and wide and not worried about the one way system but why oh why is there grey concrete instead of beautiful tiles? It really lets the place down and looks as if it's been done on the cheap instead of with a touch of class which is what the port deserves. Occasionally there are tiles inset which look ridiculous. Somebody please tell me this is not the finished article?

Phew!! Just popped into Tolo's for a quick meal as we are tired after a very early start and he was able to reassure us that the concrete is going to have a top coat of some sort. I imagine that's going to be some sort of coloured grit which would be much more attractive. I look forward to seeing this on our next visit in April.

There is a resin to be put on top but I'm not sure it will have any colour in it.

Will they lay the pavement resin in the first phase, or will this be done when all the pavements have been layed at the end of the project.?
It could be they use the same type of resin they used in the square around trees when they
Removed the steel grates.?
Rebel
I'm out next Thursday and looking forward to living the dream and hope it's not a nightmare.

Hi Rebel,

Hi Golfaholics I 'liked' your post but really wanted an unlike button. We also haven't been out since September and really have not been impressed with the photos we've seen so far. Was hoping it would look better 'in the flesh' so your comments have worried me even more. Why would they put down grey concrete? Have you spoken to Miguel?????

Have got a bit confused with the traffic one way and no way bits !!!

So just one question The taxi rank by the small park with the cafe kiosk will that still be there ? We have ususally used that one as nearest to where we have stayed lately

Wouldnt matter what colour concrete they put downon the pavements in our cities here as would soon have its own decoration of chewing gum !

It is now possible to drive down Avda Paris and then down past Tolo's towards the roundabout.

Re taxis I would imagine that if they are not able to park on the paseo that they will on Calle Xarxa which would allow them to go back into town or in other directions.

All of the pavements will be done in phase 1. The next phase will be the roads and cycle track. As far as we know traffic will be one way from Alcudia in to the Port.
