Sorry but some tourists do use the free car parks and i am sure locals and workers will also use the new car parks.

I don't know about Llenaire or Pinaret but there is land that is sometimes used for parking opposite the Pollensa Park next to Palms.

None of these areas are miles from the sea, also i wouldn't assume that there will be charges, after all there are already 3 free car parks in PP.

I've no idea who owns that bit of land but it would make an ideal car park and throw some trade to those businesses between it and the sea front by people using it.

Charge a reasonable fee and tarmac it and you'd get a few dozen cars on there easily.

Our apartment is in Llenaire and I know someone posted earlier they were worrying about the roads there looking like car parks. In my (humble) opinion even if cars did park around there in greater numbers it really wouldn't have that much effect on the area. The roads are particularly wide (especially near the Bahia pollensa Apartments etc) and cars parked end to end on both sides would not affect the road a jot. Now I understand that Llenaire is particularly far down the beach so tourists may prefer to be further up and I cannot comment on how this would affect the Pinaret area etc but as a Llenaire resident I have no issue with space for parking that end.

Am I mistaken or can I see quite a few workmen on the webcam this morning?
I thought an earlier post said they'd finished yesterday until after Easter?

P.S. - it looks a glorious morning.

That was the original plan, but as the weather looked good, they were asked to work an extra day. Back on Tuesday morning.

I believe it is owned by the Pollensa Park.

yep , also looks like tidying up / sweeping being done around sea bar.

I am not sure that I understand the translation , there is a lot in it , but what scares me is the mention of car parks at llenaire & pinaret ( where ) & also somewhere around pollensa park.

How many miles from beach will these be & do I hear the ring of cash registers.

Access has always been P.P .great strength.

According to my sources, nobody knows where the Pinaret land is or where it will be.

They first have to find the money to buy it.

Wherever it is, will obviously be in easy walking dstance to the beach.

Well, credit where credit's due. I've been watching the webcam on and off all day and since this morning the workmen have erected several lamp posts and put in quite a few trees as well as continuing the paving and cleaning up. They're almost out of sight towards Alcudia on the webcam now!
Just such a shame about that hold up at the end of last year. Obviously not the fault of this team?

P.S. - what a glorious day it's been there.

It doesn´t make clear as to whether they are provisional stops whilst work is ongoing, or definite ones for ever.

As the bus station or bus stop at the roundabout hasn´t been removed, I wouldn´t be surprised if the buses coming into PP kept on arriving via the front and returning via the new station and the ring road.

Personally, I would prefer it to be like this, mainly for the enjoyment of the people arriving here.

Don't they sometimes do deals and swap land for land? Heard once about a developer swapping large piece in Cala for smaller in Bonaire - maybe a similar deal will be done?

That is very true, especially if the person who owns it wants permission to build on "rustic" land which in theory is not developable.

The large triangle of land behind the Sea Bar, which is currently full of chickens and donkeys could be a prime example.

Regards, Molt

Was just looking on the webcam ..... not very clear, as they are a long way off ...... but are there guys working at the Alcudia end of the road???? Anyone there who knows?? Please.

It is possible as there were a couple of workmen planting trees earlier today ;).

Below is a rough translation of a report in the UH, the original article can be seen here, Presentan el modelo circulatorio del Port de Pollença tas la peatonalización de la primera línea » Part Forana » Noticias » Ultima Hora Mallorca.

Circulatory present model of Port de Pollença tas pedestrianization of the first line.

As the semipeatonalización advances (provides for the completion of the first phase for the May 4) this Tuesday unveiled the proposed new mobility for the Port de Pollença, specifically for the section of the road Ma-2220 that runs the first line and includes Alemanya avenue, London Saralegui walk and walk. The conclusions of the proposal are based on the sectoral study of sustainable urban mobility in charged in April 2013 the company CINESI Consultoria de Transport.

Senna direction of circulation of the vehicles has been divided into four zones.
Thus, in the area comprising Llenaira I will be a two - way between the roundabout ciurculación Can Cullerassa and Llenaira Avenue. In this section the ride practically not be modified.
Zones II, III and IV (1), which refers to l'Ullal, Pinaret and Port de Pollença, have a unique sense of movement from the Llenaira Avenue to street El Cano, in the sense of continuing input from Alcúdia towards the port area. IV (2), also referred to Port de Pollença from the street to the Plaza El Cano Enginyer G. Rock, provides a sense of unique circulation. The perpendiculareds covered streets between the square and Enginyer G.Roca Avendia Guillem Colom maintain the current flow direction.

As for the movement of bicycles, these will run along the sea in both directions and a reserved lane will be left.
The parking of vehicles will be made as close as possible to the buildings, in sections where the execution of the project permits. Parking in the Enginyer G.Roca Square and Paris avenue will fail.
A limitation to 40 km / h between the roundabout and Cullerassa Can Llenaira Avenue, 30 km / h between Avenue Llenaira and is pronpondrá Paris avenue and 20 km / h between Paris avenue and Enginyer G.Roca square.
the steps of passersby will be high. As for the areas of loading and unloading a study will be based on the needs of shops, hotels and restaurants in the area and as far as possible is recommended to be placed in nearby streets and in the posterior areas of the establishments.
in relation to public transport the main stop of the bus lines have been located on Calle Roger de Flor, next to the garden cultural center Miquel Capllonch, if the pros and cons of this location in this tourist season will be observed.
taxis remain central stop in the square Enginyer G. Roca this year, for possible further action will study a new location. It is also proposed to maintain the stop along the plza Joan Cerdà and new next to the bus stop.
It has also been proposed that the ORA zone is maintained between the months of May and October.

So here we are in PP for Easter and the weather is fabulous. We took a short walk today along from the Marina roundabout up towards the Gola & it is very pleasant walking along the wide pavements. The surface still looks a little unfinished but the overall effect is very good - stop worrying guys!

Thankyou.

I don't understand why the journalist writes that the bit inbetween the roundabout and the entrance to Stay will also be one way.

I also don't understand her saying that the Parking on Avda Paris will not be possible or available. Does she mean for loading and unloading commercial vehicles ? ( I ask myself )

There will be no buses departing from the old stops by the Marina all summer - we asked at the tourist office. The short two way part from the roundabout to El Cano, only gives access to the Car Park & the Quay. If you try to drive down from the roundabout you cannot turn right to go into the town. Your only option is to turn into the car park, come out & go back the way you came.

There are now two new bus stops in Roger de Flor - one behind the Church for buses from/to Alcudia & Can Picafort and another behind the old school on the square now Local Police, opposite the Post Office - this serves the buses to Pollensa, Palma & I assume eventually Formentor. We think the buses go along Roger de Flor towards Avenida Bocchoris & then up to the by-pass.

I don't know where the stops are in Llenaire etc. & how the buses are getting to Roger de Flor from Alcudia.

So far i have only ever seen buses coming down C/Tramuntana (between La Vall and the car park) they then turn left into C/Roger de Flor, some drop off right behind the church and some drop off opposite the post office. They don't always go all the way to Avenida Bocchoris, some times they turn up left beside Cafe de Moll and some times turn up left between the car park and the farmacia then left down C/ Vicenc Buades and right up C/Tramuntana to the by-pass ;).

According to the ajuntament, eventually the road and pavements will all be on the same level, this work will be done in the next phase starting this November and finishing in the Spring of 2017. Here is a rough translation of their post on FB :-

The first line of the port of pollença is an area in the works. In fact may not be consider finally ended up in the spring of 2017. The removal of barriers is a priority in all the works of the city, apart from a legal requirement. Also in this. The area of photography is adoquinarà to level of sidewalk next winter, eliminating any-escalated. To give service this summer will be a temporary flyovers that removed the escalated pacificar and help in the movement.

From todays MDP:

PUERTO POLLENSA’S first phase of semipedestrianisation heads towards completion - hopefully by 4 May, and yes, there is another phase to come, so be warned - thoughts naturally turn to the traffic system.
Well, you would think that the two would be considered together, which they probably have been, but only now has the master plan been unveiled, insofar as it represents anything that hadn’t already been said. They’ve been talking about the traffic system for as long as they have pedestrianisation, so the two have formed part of the same package and have done so ever since the late 1960s: things move slowly here, we know that.
Rather more recently late 2008 - there was to have been a grand “mobility” plan (i.e. traffic plan) for Puerto Pollensa. The then mayor, Joan Cerdà, said so. And it was to be agreed through “general consensus”, something that was seemingly absent when Joan had gone full steam ahead with the original pedestrianisation plan and its lamentable pilot scheme (abandoned after a few weeks).
The mobility plan, the impression was given, was to have been one for the whole of Puerto Pollensa, which sounded reasonable enough. Some time later, still during Joan’s reign, a plan was being cobbled together. If I remember rightly, it was the work of a relative (son, nephew or someone or other) of the then town hall delegate for Puerto Pollensa. Questions were asked, as you might have expected. We heard very little more.
And so now to the consultancy company which has apparently been working on mobility since April 2013. Its plan is? Well, basically what we knew. Two-way traffic as far the Llenaire avenue coming from Alcudia and then one-way into the port and up to the yacht club roundabout. (The plan refers to the Plaça Enginyer Gabriel Roca, of which no one has heard but which may or may not be in front of 1919.
Who can say for sure? Socalled squares with names pop up in every town without anyone having the slightest idea where they are.)
What more do we learn? There will be a speed limit of 40kph coming into Puerto Pollensa as far as the Llenaire avenue, then it’ll become 30kph as far as the Paris avenue and then it’ll be 20kph up to the Plaça Enginyer Gabriel Roca (let’s stick to the yacht club roundabout).
And that is pretty much it. A fine recipe for speeding tickets quite possibly, but within the plan there is very little about parking. It will be on one side of the coast semi-pedestrianised road up to the Paris avenue (which we also knew).
But where else will cars park? It still sounds like a flaw in the whole scheme, if parking is pushed further and further from the beach.
