Managing Director of Pavements????

Oh so this is only available on subscription then.

Can i ask that you post the link when quoting from a newspaper and also please do not post the entire article as this is a breach of copyright, thanks :).

Just wanted to say thanks everyone for this really interesting thread. I've enjoyed reading all your comments and the recent photos look great. Can't wait to see the changes for myself in May :):)

The extra width of the pavements are great as are the new and very modern street lights too.
I'd say the quality of the pavement finish is not great to be honest. Interestingly though they have imprinted outlines of shells and other unknown objects. Funniest of all though, deliberately or not, are several lots of workmen's boot imprints!
I'm both assuming and hoping there is a top coat of resin to go on?
However, the dust and concrete residue is horrendous.

I'm fully convinced still that when finished it will be a big improvement.

Yes, as has been stated before on this thread, after cleaning and polishing there is a resin to be applied but they won't do that until all the concrete has been laid.

I assumed that was the case but I had heard that this was the finish? Anyway, hopefully that will be done in phase one before the 4th May?
When it's on and cleaned it should look very good. As long as it's been laid properly then a vast improvement.

Bus stops.

This has just been posted on FB by the local police :-

You remember that the bus stop (Pollença, Inca, Palma, Alcúdia, CA ' picafort...) Is located in the street, Roger Bloom before the gardens of the building Michael Capllonch.
The other stops are located in the street, bot and avenue of llenaire.

Will this be its permanent location now or will it go back to the roundabout at some point ?

Just looking at web can at romantic.

A few brave people on the beach, & good on them, I do note that all the car parking spaces available on the sea side ( only side )have been used up already.

Heaven help us when the season is in full swing .

so many people & their cars will be forced way back from the sea to lord knows where.

I think that it is a major flaw that the parking thing has not been included in the overall plan.it appears that it is being considered now as an afterthought.

Yes - I just checked out the webcam and was surprised to see how many cars there were parked along the front - and how many people were on the beach.

If you look at the plans online it has always been the case that there would be parking on only one side of the road, the only change has been to have the parking parallel to the kerb and not 90 degrees as Originally planned, with the large car park, parking on one side and all the spaces in the side roads that were always used, there will be enough spaces for all

I am afraid that there will in no way be enough car parking spaces.

If you remove one side from parking where do they go ? also if you do not have the availabllity of xtra lanes for overtaking how do cars get round coaches when they off load their visitors at the hotels .

I expect they will have a reserved space outside them like they did before, so cars can still get past. There's always parking down both side of the bypass as well!

yep reserved spaces means less car parking.

If visitors have to park on the by pass then we may say good night to everything that has made PP unique. wonderful accessability !
how will families trek 400 m with all the stuff you take to the beach , including screaming kids.

That surely cannot be a solution.

That's because, as far as I'm concerned, it's been hot here all day with no cloud!

I also agree there will be nowhere near enough parking for vehicles. Particularly so, if as reported, Mallorca gets a massive increase in tourists this year.
