Oh so this is only available on subscription then.

Can i ask that you post the link when quoting from a newspaper and also please do not post the entire article as this is a breach of copyright, thanks :).

Hiya. Just so you are aware, under "fair dealing" if the quoted article is no more than 400 words in a single extract or 800 words in several extracts (with no single extract being more than 300 words) and you acknowledge the original source (which I did with a typo :) ) then there is no copyright breach.

I don't doubt that you are correct Bircho but i have been asked by an MDB reporter to not allow full articles to be copied even with acknowledgement of original source. We have a good relationship with the paper which is a great source of info and i don't want that to change, hence my post.

Noted :)

All the barrier are down up to Sea.bar.is and they are starting to dig the road up the other side of the Polly park road, so definitely going further with the path widening on the land side.

They have dig up the road across c. Bot, the Polly park road, why have they done that?

I agree with MDR the pavements along that stretch were a disgrace.

SWS, there is a coil of what looks like cable or piping beside the area and opposite is an area of unfinished pavement.

I read it as meaning there have been complaints that there is no shade or raised ramp for easy disabled access at the new bus stops but the council have promised to install pergolas and raised ramps asap. Also they are waiting for feedback through this summer before making a final decision on a permanent place for the stops.

Looking at the Spanish of the original complaint, I think the issue is with the lack of shelter/shade and 'benches' (bancos) which they have now said they will provide.

The bigger issue will be the traffic in that area. Whilst we were there, we were sat at Dolc Sa Poba and watched the Alcudia bus come down the side by the cafe and attempt to turn left into Roger de Flor whilst hooting at a delivery van parked opposite in the bus stop. After stopping it then had had to turn left again to get back onto the main road - not easy!

Later on we saw the 'Palma Express' arrive at the other bus stop, opposite the Post Office. This is one of those double buses. The route for this appears to be along Roger de Flor to Avenida Bocchoris where it goes straight on to the bypass.

It will be interesting to see what the Formentor bus does - it starts again tomorrow - and normally goes from the Marina along the Formentor road to stop outside Illa d'Or. See TIB - Route 353: Can Picafort - Formentor - CTM

See that now Sparky, perhaps just running the power across then!! Another thing, I hope they do the bit across the el Ancla site otherwise it will be a nightmare for the season, when do they have to stop major outside working so they can complete the path? TIA

Work usually has to stop on 1st May unless they get special permission to carry on, but i can't see that happening as it's next to the hotel. I too hope that the pavement is completed before the season starts.

I understand that that part will be done last to allow the builders to come and go with ease whilst the building is ongoing.

It will definitely be done before May 4th, 2016

The new surface should be perfect for the wee man and his hoverboard.

Hi all,
We were out last week and during our morning stroll on Wednesday noticed a form of sealant being applied to half of the stretch in front of the Marina car park. Whether this is a trial of the afore mentioned 'resin' I don't know but now dried the only difference that I can see is that it has turned the concrete a darker grey which is hopefully less dusty.
Has anyone else noticed?

I think that is the finished coat now!

Either Sea.bar.is has started selling cycles or they are rammed today, great to see so many people around and work progressing well on the path, they will be along to the hotels soon!! :)

They were rammed. Took them nearly an houur to get mee luuncch.

No problemo as theey wer a lott fasterr weith th beeers.

Blimey, couldn't have been that good as I walked down there several times last week and didn't notice it.
I hope it's eventually significantly darker than the "dust grey" currently there.

Puerto Pollensa hotels inundated with complaints about pedestrianisation work » Balearics » News » Majorca Daily Bulletin

Mostly all of Puerto Pollensa's hotels have opened for the season, but the hotel sector is concerned about the image that is being given by the ongoing work on the resort's coastal road: the semi-pedestrianisation scheme. Ramón Cunill, the president of the hoteliers' association describes the situation as regrettable.

Guests staying in hotels have been complaining about the noise and inconvenience caused by the work and the heavy machinery being used.

yep relevant article , obviously the hoteliers view but in my view all legit. They had 4.5 months to get this part right & failed badly. With regard to the quality of the finish I am not in a position to comment.

it takes the customer/ visitor for granted. It assumes that they are far more important than those who provide their future.
