Yep, no hesitation at all about driving up the road, whilst cars (most of them ) had to use the car park as a roundabout to turn round and find an alternative route . This is not going to work.

I would imagine after the cycle lane and parking bay lines have been painted on the road surface.
Apart from painting the pedestrian crossings, they will probably paint large arrows pointing towards town in case anyone is in doubt about the right way to turn or drive.

Unfortunately I don't think more or clearer road sighs will make any difference, now it is not just the new one way system that they ignore but roads that were changed to one way in the 80's, the cyclists that do this just don't care.
To be fair a great many cyclists do follow the rules and take care but a % don't and are a real danger to themselves and everyone else, the only thing that will change this behaviour is the Police stopping cyclists or drivers ( I have had one car drive straight towards me in the wrong direction) .

Do you mean in phase 2....starting next November?
There is no proper road surface at the moment so I can't imagine anything being painted on them.
With car and cyclists ignoring the quite obvious no entry and one way signs it's an accident waiting to happen.

I think that the police really need to be spending time enforcing the new one way system, maybe a few spot fines will make the law breakers comply. It is a problem and i agree it's an accident waiting to happen.

In just one day, within 4 hours we saw 2 accidents concerning cyclists and needing ambulances and police attendance.

One on the aeroplane roundabout, and the other by Club Sol. The last accident we can remember involving a cyclist was about 4 years ago on the mountain road. The incident was very upsetting, but it was an accident because of the road, not through carelessness. These accidents are different unfortunately, and usually because they are travelling in groups. Road users of any description are appearing very stressed!

I'd say the paint lines are quite easily removed and/or tarmacked over in the second phase.
And really required for the main season to guide locals and tourists alike.
Not quite the same as sealing dirty or marked pavements.

The worst bit of the road along by the hotels on the way to Llenaire hopefully will become the parking lane, that bit is no fun on a bike!!

Yes, it will be interesting to see on what side the car parking and cycle lane will be.
One would expect the car parking to be on the land side as it would make more sense for the bicycle lane to be on the sea side, but on the other hand it would be safer for those getting out of cars to be on the sea side and would also be more agreeable for people sitting in the bars not to have a car parked directly in front of them.
Of course another alternative would be to have the cycle lane next to the sea side pavement and the car parking next to this.
This would leave ample space for the coaches and buses that Pinaret will be driving.

It would be logical if it would be the a bi-directional cycle lane along the sea front and linking up with the one towards/from Alcudia.
Though I can see plenty of conflict issues there throughout the season with people accessing the beach and the pedestrian crossings.
But the sea side is likely the better location.
Not in favour of the "parking protected" cycle lanes.
They'd just add another dimension of risk for everyone involved.

Reminds me of the times I drove around Morocco on a motorcycle.
Even in large cities like Rabat, Fez and Marrakesh, cars, motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, people, donkies, dogs and anything else that was going from A to B used the roads as if they owned them.
Obviously pedestrian crossings and traffic lights were never used for the purpose they were designed for.
Therefore everybody keept their eyes well open and never assumed anything.
Due to this, it was one of the safest places I have ever had the pleasure to drive.

This was from 2014, this was one of the pictures from the original plans, shows the cycle land on the sea side, this doesn't guarantee they will be sticking to it, but I assume they will be!!
