Smiddy...Sad news.

Whilst we never met him he came across as such a lovely man in his posts on the forum, our prayers and thoughts go out to his family.....Mike and Sue

Never knew the man, but he certainly livened the boards up from time to time. He always called things as he saw them with no BS. My sympathies to his family.

I have just seen the really sad news - I did not know about Smiddy's health problems at all - we were introduced to him and his wife by Maureen in Citrus a couple of years ago. I remember him kind of sneaking up on her behind the bar and going 'BOO' - made her jump!! I am so sorry and pass all condolences to his family. From what I have read here - he certainly lived his life to the full.

We had the pleasure of meeting Smiddy and his wife in O'Lume a few years ago and enjoyed talking about all things PP.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends in his beloved, second home of Puerto Pollenca.

Like others have said I never met him but enjoyed reading his posts and he sounded like a man who was full of good joy.

It's funny whan you post on forums like these that you try and get a sense of a person if you know what I mean . He def appeard to be one of life's good guy's.

Very sad to read about Smiddy. I always enjoyed his posts. From what I read, he was a fighter who didn't let his health issues interfere with his enjoyment of life. My thoughts are with his family.

Very sad news, it was only two weeks ago we met Smiddy his wife and MWC and family in where else O Lume. He appeared then to be in good spirits despite all his problems. His posts were always interesting, instructive and witty an inspiration to all forum members to get out and enjoy Puerto Pollensa a place he dearly loved. Our condolences to his wife Moira and family.

Mogs & I are both deeply saddened by this news:
we always enjoyed Smiddy's posts on the forum and we were lucky enough to meet Mr & Mrs S. last September and our late night chat & drink with them & Jaime at O'lume was a highlight of the holiday.

Our thoughts are very much with Moira & the rest of the family.

I'm yet another forum member who never actually met 'Smiddy' but read his posts over several years. So sorry to hear of his sad loss - thinking of his family and friends.
Nice that he still got to PP, a place that he obviously really enjoyed.
