it rather sounds as if many areas are really suffering this year. What with a combination of economic crises, volcanic ash, exchange rates, and (at least in some areas) the rise of the all-inclusives, there doesn't seem to be much optimism about.

From some of the comments on here it appears that people are split between those who do feel that the numbers (and consequent spend) are down, and those who feel that it is ok - just.

It will certainly be interesting to see how busy things are when my family and I get there (hopefully) at the end of June. First time for five years during summer. Given that it was far too busy the last summer we went, I wouldn't mind a bit more peace and quiet, but I don't want to see the tumbleweed down the Pinewalk!

There's always a lot of doom & gloom early in every season. There are tourists about but remember it is only mid May . What I think you will find is that it will be better value here , than last year, especially if the pound stays in the 1.15 -1.20 euro zone. Quite a lot of deflation on restaurant prices and set deals as they fight for trade. Whether this continues remains to be seen at the height of the summer, but I think they will probably have to.

Drinks at Bonys cheaper than I have known for years and he does offer cheap baguettes and drinks lunchtime as well. ( That's enough of a plug for Jose !!!! ) .

So it certainly ain't as bleak as some like to think. When that sun starts scorching the pavements in a week or two don't think many will notice much change.

Allenglens, IMO opinion June the best time to go, weather fab, plenty of room on beach and restaurants, in the UK the majority of schools have yet to break-up. The hordes have yet to arrive.

I hope your right smiddy, we are coming 6/6 -13/6 as my daughter gets 2 weeks at half term so if we go away the 2nd week its always cheaper. This year we have booked a Thompons package for the first time and it was too good to pass over (IMO). We weren't sure if we could afford a PP trip this year but your comments warm my meanfisted cockles!
My daughter will be pleased bony's is cheaper, not my favourite place but kids and sweets wadyagonnadoo!!

Make the most of it ...... early June is our favourite time of year ..... ever once we were stuck with just a weelk at half term we always went late May but now we can't go May or June this year or next or the one after due to GCSE's AS and then A levels .............thought I'd seen the back of them 35years ago but they still getting in the way of my fun even now

I am sure you will have a really great time ................ lovelly weather but not stifling, everywhere still quite green , not as crowded as July anbd August ................ heaven
